jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 No ground lost on the O's. Twins walk off on them with a Dozier HR. Still only 1 game back of them. So it's 2.5 (Yankees) and 2 (Twins). Gotta win the rest of the series against the weaker part of the rotation.. and Shark(depending on which version we get of him.)
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Trade Buehrle to a contender if we fall out of it. He's too good for this s*** show.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Trade Buehrle to a contender if we fall out of it. He's too good for this s*** show. We're still only 2-2.5 back. Give it a few more weeks.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Man..where have you been the last several years. They're done. Sell sell sell Yep. Three years in a row the team has had big winning streaks that were followed up by massive regression. Fool me once and twice, but not three f***ing times. I don't want Alex touching this roster for the rest of the season. Let Duquette or whoever takes over fix this gong show.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Would Navarro for Joe Smith straight up work for both teams? They need a catcher and we need a pen arm.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 His home runs are up, strike outs are down, walks are up, and velocity will only start declining. The Dickster is toast. It's just a matter of how long AA is willing to stick with him. DFA him when Syndergaard is pitching like an ace will be a bruise to the ego, I'm sure.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 ^ Sometimes your the Windshield, Sometimes your the Bug! Make Dickey go Splat! It's the Win League, not the try! Show him the Door and tell him, FYSMC !

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Blanton making a spot start Saturday vs. the Blue Jays, due to today's double-header. So the rotation for the weekend series is now Duffy/Blanton/Volquez. Not a great rotation.. and very feasible for the Jays to dominate. First, let's focus on beating the White Sox..
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Anyone listening to Kevin Barker on baseball central right now? Oh my f***ing god... davidi said the same thing. are there people out there who think Reyes is a superstar??? Really people in baseball?
TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 davidi said the same thing. are there people out there who think Reyes is a superstar??? Really people in baseball? What was ridiculous was Barker went on a 10 minute rant where he didn't come up for air just yelling about Reyes and defending him. It was very hard to listen to.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I'm going to guess he said something like "Yuu dont just gow anne replace yoar souperstar shortstop from a meesplay ok?"
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 here's an outside opinion on Reyes, from ESPN chat Mikeleelop (toronto) some media in Toronto suggest you can't make late inning defensive substitution for Reyes because he's a superstar. Defensively, he has made late inning errors that have led to two losses. Is Reyes still thought of as a superstar? His flat footed fielding style is awkward and his range is severely limited because of it. Why not sub the guy out for one of the top DSR IF in the league in Ryan Goins.... David Schoenfield (12:56 PM) Hmm, good question. He's not a good defensive shortstop, especially as he's aged. Do the Jays know that? They probably do. So that suggests that either John Gibbons doesn't think it's worth it or that he's worried about Reyes' ego. I don't have the answer, but you shouldn't let "superstar" status get in the way of a sound baseball decision. (And, no, Reyes is no longer thought of as a superstar outside of his own home.)
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 If I were Gibby I'd just remove Reyes in close games. If we're up by 3, leave him in there.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 If I were Gibby I'd just remove Reyes in close games. If we're up by 3, leave him in there. Yeah, color me not impressed. I thought Gibby had more of a f***-it attitude this year, guess not.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 With Travis back there's almost no point to Goins if he's not going to be used as a defensive replacement for Reyes.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 No command for Sanchez in his rehab start. Shocking.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 It was very hard to listen to. Any conversation with Barker is tough to listen to.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 So the Jays tried to sign Phillippe Aumont after his DFA with the Phils. He turned it down and joined the NCBL (essentially the Men's league in Ottawa). He just didn't want to play anymore. The National team convinced him to not give up and he's starting the 3rd game of the Pan Am games. If he performs well in the Pan Am games I expect the Jays to give him a minor league deal.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 The guy is still walking too many people but still striking out guys. Hopefully he figures it out just like Axford did.

When Alomar botched a routine play in '04, he said he knew it was time to quit. If only Reyes had that much humility and did the same. Edited July 7, 2015 by abola2121
CHRIS Verified Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Just heard the Davidi stuff: "If you don't trust your SS to catch the ball in the 9th inning, you don't trust him to catch it in the 1st inning". Yeesh.
