RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Another big game today. It would be huge if we can find a way to score a few runs on Archer and have Dickey come through Let's go Jays
ScientificReason Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Dickey usually does well in the Trop....hope it continues.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 LOL kawasaki. I love Kawasaki. I do not think he's a mascot. I think he needs to be on this team. I know I am in the minority there.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Blair: First big win of the season. Couldn't agree more.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Question so you have to remove one Starter and move him to the pen between Dickey, Hutch and Shanchez who and Why? Also loup or Cecil who would you sent down for a bit to regain there mojo who would benefit the most? More valuable to us if fixed?

Id rather put them in some low leverage situations to work on command before Id send them to Buff. These two are established vets now and are healthy. They will come around imo and be valuable assets again for us. There are a number of teams who would kill to have a Loup and Cecil LHP tandem in their pen.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Jesus christ Hutch has been terrible this year.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Jesus christ Hutch has been terrible this year. Has appeared to be wildly inconsistent, but hasn't been terrible. Highest WAR and lowest FIP of our rotation.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Jesus christ Hutch has been terrible this year. But he is 7-1. He is pitching to the score. "knows how to win" lol
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Dickey hasn't done well at the Trop since 2013. He was bad last season and horrendous in his one start this season. The magic might be gone. If Sanchez has to miss more time, then AA better call up Norris or Boyd to replace him. I don't care if it's only for a start or two. If Copeland or Redmond start a game for this team again, I'll go mad.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Give me a winner any day. I will take the guy that goes out and wins ball games. I don't think Hutch is going out and winning games. (especially not on the road) The offense is winning his starts, although props to him for grinding out some innings last night when clearly he didn't have his command.

Obvious answer is Sanchez but you would need to add a starter before consider moving any of the three to the BP.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 As For the LH pen tandem of Cecil and loup there have not been that good and in June even worse for the most part! We need them at the best for the playoff run, not saying if sent to Buffalo they have to stay thier, make them earn Thier way back... Prove it! Just think a LH tandem of two of either Norris, wolf or Durbont maybe equal and even better for the team and us Right Now!
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Obvious answer is Sanchez but you would need to add a starter before consider moving any of the three to the BP. By add you mean trade for one? Or move one up from Buffalo ?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 At this point I think you have to trade. I'd call up Matt Boyd to replace Copeland if Sanchez isn't ready to go though. Maybe he can steal a spot.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Obvious answer is Sanchez but you would need to add a starter before consider moving any of the three to the BP. Obvious how soo? I am not so sure about that statement!
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Obvious how soo? I am not so sure about that statement! Dickey out of the BP would be a disaster --> he rarely comes out and throws strikes early. He prefers Thole as his catcher so you may be looking at a mid-game catcher replacement. Hutch --> Would be a great reliever but seems to be finding his stride and has had success out of the rotation. No logical replacement for him at this point in the system. Sanchez --> has the stuff to be a dominant reliver. Has had success out of the BP and has been inconsistent in the rotation. Is coming off an injury and needs some time to build his innings back up. Isn't on an innings limit per se but his innings are being watched and will likely move to the BP at some point if his arm begins to tire.
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Give me a winner any day. I will take the guy that goes out and wins ball games. Did you say the same thing when Romero was like 8-1 to start his downfall year when everything about him was horrible?
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Hutchison has very perplexing home road splits. On the road hes gotten knocked around but at home he has been stellar. Even more perplexing is that last year he had a similar discrepancy but it was at home where he struggled and the road where he thrived.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Hutch has Failed to go Six innings 11 out of 14 times this year so far, improving how? Shanchez has by the same token failed to make Six six times out of eleven, if we are being honest so far this season he may be our most improved player not just pitcher in this team! Dickey would not be a problem late catcher wise either, Martin can catch him and in the s*** the bed day or blow outs dickey can pitch it on home and save the pen from melt downs! More bullets for when we really need em!

Martin can catch him mid-game but I don't think there is a catcher on the planet that wants to see a KB out of the BP. Add in the tendency for KB's to go for HR's and Dickey's inability to consistently throw strikes and he isn't a fit in the BP IMO.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 The ideal scenario is a trade for a SP, promote Norris, and move Sanchez and Estrada to the 'pen. Improves the SP and a bullpen of Cecil, Osuna, Loup, Sanchez, Hendriks, Delabar, and Estrada is elite.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Improves the SP and a bullpen of Cecil, Osuna, Loup, Sanchez, Hendriks, Delabar, and Estrada is elite. Elite? No. Good, maybe.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 none are elite individually although a case can be made for osuna and sanchez is he performs like last year out of the 'pen. cecil is an elite reliever when he is on, have not seen it yet this year. but this would be a very deep 'pen. would have no plm using any of the 7 in high leverage situations.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 You know, my mind just got blown... Apparently we already have a good bp: 6th - xFIP 14th - FIP 17th - ERA It does seem like we've been unlucky. K% BB% are really good.

Estrada looks like a very decent 5th starter I'd trust him more than Norris right now Def agree on Sanchez though

Which is important because a guy like Osuna is underrated by it.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
