So who on the 25-man realistically could be traded that has value to other teams?

I have a bad feeling Edwin may be a piece. AA seems like the kind of guy who would want maximum asset management. Shipping Edwin would allow a Smoak/Valencia/Portobello rotation in 1B/LF.

I would think Travis or Osuna would be likely targets for other teams

Wouldn't Collabelo have value though? He proved that he's MLB hitter, i don't see that changing though he doesn't have the pedigree of Edwin.

I know everyone wants to give up guys like Portobello and Cecil for good talent, but thats not going to happen. If we're talking about 25-man roster guys, it has to be someone of value. Edwin fits the profile of a good trade candidate.

He has 1 more year remaining on his contract, and he's still producing. We have a suitable replacement for him (obviously not as effective, though) and we are dealing from position of strength (offense).

The only problem is to find a team that needs offense and can deal excess pitching.

aaaaaaand I just realized one problem. Edwin gained his 10/5 rights a few weeks back. He'd have to OK the trade :/

I think the decision to trade Edwin ultimately comes down to the state of his health. His value isn't very high right now as he's having a hard time catching up to the inside FB and that could be directly related to the reported shoulder problems. If that's the case, I'd hold on to him and keep him off the field as much as possible. He could also just be regressing which would make trading him a lot easier but I doubt that is the case.

If I had to trade players from the roster I'd look at moving guys like Pillar, Sanchez and Estrada before selling low on Edwin.

Half to a third is what I think is fair also! Still means you sav 11-14 mill going forward as well? :)

But you don't want to eat money but spend some, I wonder if la would be open to a Reyes, Navarro and PTBNL for grienke,

Rollins deal? We would be taking on 9 mill and they get a upgrade at SS and backup catcher! Heck is they want Dickey and Thole instead of navarro that could be arranged too! Think the money is almost even then, but that route probably cost us a Hoff or Norris easily!

You're going to have to part with much more than that for Greinke.

Come on EE holds more value then that in trade!

Again if I am trading him I am going package deal and riding myself of Reyes if I do!

Seattle just seems be perfect trade partner here. EE and Reyes for Tiajuan and Carson smith plus one of there short stops!

If they want Navarro they can have him too for pual fry !

If they need money, we sign the cheque now!

Why he can walk at years end?

Because no one wants Reyes and his contract, Navarro is trash and a PTBNL is just a crap shoot. They aren't going to give up one of the best pitchers in the game for that terrible package.

Why do people say Navarro is trash? That s*** gets old and it's just plain wrong.

Navarro provided 4 WAR the last 2 seasons, and that is only 1.5 seasons. He's a pretty solid all around catcher with some deficiencies, obviously. He doesn't strike out much and has had a good bat (for a catcher) the last 3 seasons. I think he works well with the pitchers and is probably a good game caller. Also, I've seen much worse blocking from Martin (even w/o the KB).

Hence the money, please try to keep up to speed! Lol

Does EE have a no trade clause even? Do you know this for sure?

Pretty sure it's the 10 & 5 rule he's referring to. 10 years in the majors, 5 years as a Jay, he can veto.
