Well obviously you weight both, but the weight that should be placed on scouting diminishes pretty quickly.

 

you make it scouting sound almost negligible though. Jose Bautista had a negative career WAR prior to joining the team. EE was a below average player and had a replacement level season the year before the Jays picked him up and those are 2 of the teams top players. Young players don't have any statistics to project. Castro signed for 43k because some scout saw him and didn't pass and now he's got a big future as does Osuna.....and the reality is luck is an element that plays a huge part in all of it too.

My mother asked me to find out who the Woman behind the plate that is constantly eating is. I thought it would be an easy process. Turns out many have asked the same question and no one has got the answer. Someone even created a Twitter account for her. So although our chief investigator is on a timeout...I'll give him a lifetime free pass from bannings if he can figure it out.

When I was on a Rogers centre tour they said winner of draw when naming the Skydome won lifetime tickets for best seats in the house, and all SHE had to do is let them know she is turning up. I don't know if that's her but it would make sense.

Well I can eliminate the winner of the name the Skydome contest for you. The winner of those tickets was the wife of a manager from National Bank. My buddy worked for National Bank and we sat in the seats for an opening day in 2001 or 2002. The seats are front row right behind home plate in the 200 level. There is a pair of them, unless they have moved them, which I would doubt. The only condition of using the seats, is to not speak with the media!??! I may have just technically broke that condition. He doesn't work for National Bank anymore. :)

That's not her. The woman who won is Kellie Watson and I'm pretty sure Hurl said she sits on the 3rd base side when she bothers to show up.

Geddy lee seems like a guy who is heavy into sabermetrics.

 

He absolutely is, and he's a fantasy baseball NUT. Plays in leagues with completely atypical (for fantasy baseball) stats. Sportsnet did an interview with him about it a few years ago.

Yeah, Rush is in my top 3 "most influential" bands for me, (the other two being The Pixies and Melvins), though I cycle through actual "favourites" a lot and really couldn't nail down a list.
