DL stint a possibility. #Bluejays #BaseballCentral Didn't he do this on a check swing??? Must have happened before diving for a ball or something.
baubau Verified Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 How do you fracture your rib on a check swing? Guh, this team. First sprinklers, then sneezes now check swings. We can't even bubble wrap them to keep them healthy. E: Oh and bunt drills as well. God dammit.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Habs fans will say he's faking! (sorry for that other sport reference). Good thing Jays have Ryan Goins.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 If I remember correctly, they said he had some side pain he played through during the Baltimore Series and wore a suit jacket thing around his ribs for support until the pain was too much.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Well, gotta play .500 ball until he returns.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 What will they do with the line up? Move everyone up is ideal but even Pompey has struggled a bit. Maybe Travis deserves to be moved up although it's a little early to be testing rookies at leadoff.
Travis_Snider Verified Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Trav in the #1 spot. fcuk reyes

Must have happened before diving for a ball or something. cracked rib is better than stomach muscle or chest muscle tears/strains. it means 4 weeks to heal and 2 weeks to rehab and then Jose "Sugar Glass" Reyes should be good to go.

I think he could be a very good lead off guy. he's been our best hitter?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Yeah it seems like he hurt it in Baltimore and then really hurt it the other day diving for that play. At least it isn't a leg problem, though I would think a fractured rib means no swinging for like 3-4 weeks.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 So does anybody here think "injury-prone" is still not a real thing? Lawrie will miss 30-60 games this year Morrow will miss at least 7/8 starts. All like clockwork

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I still don't understand why he was playing through the bad pain... that never goes well. Terrible coaching

Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 4-6 weeks? Reyes has been useless as a Jay!
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 f*** 4-6 weeks of Goins is a nightmare.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Marlins trade update: still stupid
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 5.8 war. 22 f***in million dollars tho.......
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Wait till one of the big three go down soon. lol
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Where are you seeing 4-6 weeks? From what I'm seeing he's not even going on the DL for sure
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Where are you seeing 4-6 weeks? From what I'm seeing he's not even going on the DL for sure Same, but I've learned the sugar is coated pretty thick until it suddenly isn't.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 This roster should have a second viable shortstop. Reyes is not reliable, and we're on season 3 with nothing but crap to back him up.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Where are you seeing 4-6 weeks? From what I'm seeing he's not even going on the DL for sure cracked rib takes 4 weeks to heal if it's left alone and protected. not putting him on the DL just gives the team another bench player who is just taking a roster spot. not guessing. I've had cracked ribs twice and broken ribs once. he hurts like f*** either way. every breath feels like someone is punching you. amazing that he tried to play through it. probably made things worse. time is all that heals them. you really just have to wait. 4 weeks with no baseball. then rehab and hope there is nothing else wrong.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
