gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 How is that an overreaction? That's a putrid line. Looks like a Drabek post TJ x2 Just saying because he's been good with his control since being called up. Yeah his BB/9 milb numbers aren't great, but give the f***ing kid a break.
SexyNewForum Verified Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 So the big 3 all went deep today. Can't wait to see that happen during the regular season! Solid jinx right here

glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 You mad, bro? I need Cam'ron to point out how mad I am. That's how mad I am. Should have traded Sanchez to the A's for Donaldson and kept Graveman and Barreto.
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 There has been a combined 14 walks and 14 hits. What a s*** game.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Where did the other walks come from after Sanchez's departure?
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Where did the other walks come from after Sanchez's departure? I mean combined from both teams.
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Blue Jays had 9 walks and Phillies had 7. A combined 16 Walkathon.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 6 walks in 4 innings? good thing we aren't relying on a bunch of rookies this year.. oh wait.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Like Buerhle with 3 years over 1.4...and the last 2 seasons at 1.35 He had an ERA of 4.28 and 4.99 in the two full seasons his WHIP got over 1.4 and he has a career ERA of 3.8, Not to mention he is one baseballs biggest exceptions to the rules. If you have a 1.4 WHIP you will give up runs because of sequencing, The odds are higher that the pitcher will give up multiple hits or walks in a single inning, Those extra base runners have to go somewhere.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 6 walks in 4 innings? good thing we aren't relying on a bunch of rookies this year.. oh wait. Good thing nobody is overreacting about 1 spring start... oh wait
Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Buehrle doesn't have a hit problem? He has a league average BABIP for his career. He just strikes out less guys. His lack of walks help mitigate the damage, but always giving up over 9 H/9 is the reason he has never been able to keep his ERA down. Also the lack of strikeouts means those outs would have gone through the BABIP outcome generator, so even if he kept his BABIP at league average the outcome would still be more hits than average. I'm sure you know this since it's what makes strikeouts so valuable.

guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 why did stroman have to die ugh... sanchez is gonna get smashed so hard
abola2121 Verified Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 why did stroman have to die ugh... sanchez is gonna get smashed so hard I don't think Sanchez should be counted on as Stroman's replacement.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I don't think Sanchez should be counted on as Stroman's replacement. He's not the replacement. the whole line just had to take a big step forward.

Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I don't think Sanchez should be counted on as Stroman's replacement. I feel like Sanchez would have been the 5th starter regardless. AA would have been able to keep Norris down for control reasons under the guise of giving Sanchez his shot to start because he is more experienced.
Sparky12 Verified Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 why did stroman have to die ugh... sanchez is gonna get smashed so hard I would be extremely excited about our rotation of Stroman was in and samchez was out, damnit Stroman, not only our best pitcher but my favourite to watch also
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Good thing none are overreacting to 33 IP as a reliever last year I definitely agree with you on that. Very small sample, Sanchez is obviously not an elite reliever.
