Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 It's all good, I'm excited too, but banking too much on rookies will bite you more often than not, IMO. Yeah but they're not, all they have to be is decent not excellent
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 The goal is to increase win expectancy, which is done by increasing run expectancy, which RBI groundouts and sac fly's do not do. They are a negative with one out and around neutral with one out. Come on man, we're talking about a bunch of men playing a game. Arguing against high fives because he failed to increase run expectancy is a pretty lame argument to be honest.

Without these guys's emergence, the franchise would have to increase payroll to 150-160M to contend. The team hasn't banked on this many rookies in a while, however, it hasn't won with them vetrins either. Bottomline: if you be good, you be good.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Nobody 'wanted' Izturis. can say the same about Navarro
ColdPint Verified Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Castro 5K/9 in the spring. Not missing any bats, looks like a junk baller.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Navarro is a bonafide boner killer.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Castro 5K/9 in the spring. Not missing any bats, looks like a junk baller. Weak bait.
Bluejays0988 Verified Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 No Hutch love? To be honest I got too excited about the thought of that as a rotation I completely forgot about Hutch. Thats kind of scary considering his potential as well.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 This pleases me. and how much does this team save without Estrada, Dickey, MB, Navarro and Izturis? 40mil? you forgot ricky Romero's 7.5 mil
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I wish we could have the velocities. Holy s*** Castro.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Buck Martinez "Castro is 17-7 with a 2.47 ERA in his minor league career. Joe you just don't see numbers like that in the minors". lol
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Castro with a breaking ball strikeout
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 yeah that was a deep curve, not a slider
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Damn Castro.....slider, breaking ball and a 97mph heater. Wow...
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 yeah that was a deep curve, not a slider It could be a slider with vertical movement, depends on the grip.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 No Hutch love? Depends on this season and the season Sanchez has. I could see Sanchez move back to the pen if Hutch does better than expected this year.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Those last 2 breaking balls to Beckham were actually pretty good. Decent break.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 That slider has come a long way for Castro
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 you forgot ricky Romero's 7.5 mil Just keeps getting better!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Castro 5K/9 in the spring. Not missing any bats, looks like a junk baller. What is it now?
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 deep, wipeout slider from Castro today. holy f*** these guys are good
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I haven't been following, is Castro a starter?
