Not sure if it was mentioned but Daniel Norris was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer earlier this year, before the trade deadline and based on his Instagram post it might have been as early as the start of the season.

There's a best wishes Daniel Norris thread (which is actually an old thread about his trade value that I renamed). People have been posting about it there (just mentionning it as an FYI, I don't mind it coming up here too).

I knew there was the Daniel Norris thread, didn't see it on mobile.

Watched all the playoffs so far with a mlb.tv premium package and today I got the boot.

Apparently it's not good for the playoffs, just cut me off while watching the Cubs/Mets game.

Any links for that game out there?

Try the international option

Just noticed that using a browser. Thanks

Wouldn't even give me that option using the MLB.tv Windows 8 app. Just a pop up saying I'm not authorized. Same with the Kodi add-on

But this does work on my (Android) tablet no problem, go figure.

Drabek lol. Sorry for your pain....and loss.

Go Chinese knockoffs through aliexpress.com. $20, shipping in, and they look pretty close to the real deal. I don't mind buying knockoffs, especially now that it is painfully clear MLB hates the Blue Jays and wishes we weren't still in the playoffs.

do u know anyone who has actually bought these? is it one of those deals where you put it in the washer/dryer once and it becomes a rag?

Let me bump this thread with this: Nationals GM Rizzo has narrowed his search for the next Nats manager to two people; Bud Black and Dusty Baker.

Yes, you read it right, Dusty Baker.

Its 2015 and Dusty Baker was just named as a finalist to a Major League manager position. Jesus.

I might get a Red Canada Day jersey from there because the Jays Shop stopped selling them

That's true, but Dusty Baker? Really??

Ned Yost is the manager of the American League representatives in the World Series, Dave Stewart is the General Manager of an MLB team. This really wouldn't be any weirder.

The thing with Dusty has always been, not only is he useless and very old school, but he wears pitchers down significantly. I remember reading a few articles about this when he was a coach with Cincy. He'll destroy Strasburg lol

He destroyed Mark Prior and Kerry Wood, who both had amazing potential if they had full careers.

As someone who is trying to trade him in a fantasy league and shouldn't be saying this, Strasburg doesn't need any help to get destroyed (health-wise, obviously).

Yes, those were the two specifically! That's why Wood eventually became a closer too right?

"Don't worry, some 130 pitch outings here and there should sort the kid out!" *Dusty Baker voice*

My god, why do managerial openings just end up with different clubs cycling through the same guys like this? What is even the methodology these clubs use?

The thought process here probably went something along the lines of "our rookie manager just oversaw an epic clubhouse collapse that helped tank the preseason world series favourite, so let's hire a guy with a track record of being well-liked by his players".

I don't really blame them TBH.

Strasburg was ruined in college. Not only is he physically fragile he's emotionally fragile. As all former fat guys are.
