intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 No more different than the Jays are How are the Jays limping into the playoffs? 8-4 starting from the huge series v. the Yankees, with two of the losses coming from Bisons lineups @ the Orioles.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Such an exciting week to be a baseball fan: - Astros need a win today to get to the WC game - Buehrle will likely set the 200IP record then retire - Kershaw going for 300 Ks - Cole vs. Arriera wild card - Jays back in the playoffs, and loaded - crazy good field in the NL playoffs Gonna be glued to my TV Damn you, I have to work today

The two losses obviously ding the team's overall record, but Thursday was essentially an off-day following Wednesday's day game. Between 7PM Wednesday and 7PM Friday, the Buffalo Bisons dressed up in blue and played two regular season games against the Orioles. People really, really need to relax.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Yeah the Jays are not limping into the playoffs. Aside from last night, their only losses in the past week have been with a AAA lineup out there. Today's game will be started by a guy on 1 days rest who will pitch two innings tops, followed by Hutchison who can't get MLB hitters out the past month. Unless you believe in the power of momentum, the Jays losing because of s***** lineups they are purposely throwing out there is not likely to cause a huge meltdown a week from now. I do worry about the long lay offs for the SP's, though. I know they are getting side work in, but that's a ton of rest for Price, Stroman, and Dickey. Could be good or bad.

I'll mention it. NO RAYS IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!

reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Beltre bomb. The Rangers are looking pretty dangerous offensively. 3-2.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Doesn't matter Houston is now fighting to have Home Field advantage
candymartinez Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Angels lose, today really sucked.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Jays get to play the Rangers! Best possible outcome IMO. Rangers are easily the worst playoff team. Only +11 RD before today.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Astros tie their game. An Astros win gets them home field advantage for the wild card, as the Yankees are limping to the finish vs. the Orioles, 7-2.

Only +11 RD before today. So much wrong with this statement. You realize that they along with the Jays have been the hottest team in the 2nd half right? Jays are obvious favorites against every AL team, however this is probably THE WORST matchup for us. The last 2 days have been a joke. Last night's blown save really screwed us over. Facing the Yanks or Astros without the use of their ace would have been much better. I don't get all of you happy we aren't playing the Yankees - we made them our bitch this season. Tanaka is the only one who gave them a chance against us, and we would only have to face him once in the series.

The Rangers don't get to use their ace either in game 1 (unless they want Hamels on 3 days rest). It'll likely be: Price vs Gallardo Stroman vs Hamels Dickey vs Holland Estrada vs Gallardo Price vs Hamels

Fortunately, the Jays are the best team so they have the best shot to win regardless. Instead of having like a 60% shot of winning the ALDS it's say 55%.

Rangers aren't exactly coming into the series on a high note.. losing 5 of their last 9. And that bullpen got lit up yesterday..
