Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Astros emasculating the D-backs 21-3. It's a close one, lol.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Astros emasculating the D-backs 21-3. Ouch.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Preferably the AL West. But any of the scenarios would be cool. I don't think any of the teams are capable of beating the Yankees unless Tanaka is a pumpkin like his last start. I think the Angels can beat him. One mistake to Pujols/Trout and there goes a three run shot.

reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Not sure if posted, just realized Kershaw (294 k's) is going to throw a shorter start Sunday to try and get to 300 strikeouts for the first time since 2002. Tune in!

How much money would they actually bring in? Seems like a terrible idea to me.
Praxis Verified Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Mexico? How much money would they actually bring in? Seems like a terrible idea to me. Possibly, but you're not thinking of alternative revenue streams: i) Tequila and illegal susbstance vendors ii) Kidnapping of visiting tourists/players for ransom iii) A tunnel from under the stadium to the American border iv) Discounts for outsourced workers from Canada and America to come and watch the games v) Bribe booths for the local police to look the other way while getting blow jobs in the stands from underage hookers vi) Pay toilets when getting the runs after eating dodgy stadium food vii) Half-time shows to see who gets AIDS the fastest while getting tattoos from infected needles Really, the possibilities are endless....
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 If Trump gets in, the team name invents itself: Mexico City Bricklayers

Good point, I forgot about the black markets!
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 So, the Jays magic number to clinch the AL crown is 2 and the Royals is 3. Does that sound about right? If they win and KC loses today it's done?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Anything that ensures at least a tie by the end of 162 will mean the Jays get no. 1 overall - so, yeah, 2 for Toronto. It could be decided by the end of tonight.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Mexico? How much money would they actually bring in? Seems like a terrible idea to me. Chris Mitchell from Hardball Times did a nice assessment of what makes a successful baseball franchise. Higher income means more than population which would seem to make Mexico a poor choice...also higher white population was the second biggest factor. Interesting assessment. The second part looked at some of the top choices, San Jose (like on all models) comes out on top. http://www.hardballtimes.com/examining-potential-mlb-expansion-cities-part-1/
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Also I'd like to note that baseball needs to expand (and I would go to 36) to get offense back up.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Must win game and the Twins trot out Tommy Milone lol.
venema20 Verified Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Must win game and the Twins trot out Tommy Milone lol. Imagine how painful that must be for Twins fans
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 God I hate the Twins. Mediocrity defined.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Mexico? How much money would they actually bring in? Seems like a terrible idea to me. In Mexico City, should draw over 100,000 fans to a game. It would be phenomenal IMO.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Must win game and the Twins trot out Tommy Milone lol. While Jose Berrios rots on the bench. The Twins are an awful org.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 God I hate the Twins. Mediocrity defined. To be fair they weren't supposed to even be this close. Sano is blue chip.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 ARE you kidding me? How could Suzuki and Milone let that ball drop!

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Fox broadcast: "I don't think anyone saw the walks coming from Sano." Going back to 2012, minor league walk rates of 14.5%, 11.9%, 13.0% and 13.3% this year.
