BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 (Rumor) Apparently Vin Scully is about to announce his retirement. Scully is a legend. His call on Kirk Gibson's WS 1988 Game winning HR is still one of the best of all time imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U157X0jy5iw

King Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Los Angeles Dodgers @Dodgers 44s45 seconds ago OFFICIAL: It'll be a very pleasant 2016. Vin Scully to return for his 67th season.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Joe Maddon is an *******.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 f*** yeah! I believe the AL East plays the NL West with how they've rotated the interleague schedule since moving the Astros back 3 years ago, so if we play in LA, we might just manage to get to throw Buck and Pat out to pasture to listen to the GOAT.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 While Toronto sells out, the Rays, facing the soon-to-be AL Central champs, the KC Royals, drew just 13,622 for a Friday game (and real numbers are likely in the 4 digits.) And the Rays are also fading in the wild card.. could be a battle between Texas and Minnesota for a date vs. the Yankees in the play-in game to get clobbered by the Royals.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 wat? According to Joe Maddon, Vin Scully will announce his retirement in coming days.
FFantasy Verified Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Just give Kershaw the Cy now... no seriously, it's over, he won. Watch Greinke get it instead... that would be lolz.
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 According to Joe Maddon, Vin Scully will announce his retirement in coming days. that guys dumn, going off whatever red sox radio he listened to, Maddon said this: Mark Whicker @MWhicker03LANG 1h1 hour ago Scully divulged The Decision to Joe Maddon, who wouldn't give it up: "He'll announce it tonight. I was happy about what he said."
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Kershaw should try And pitch in the AL East like a real man instead of hiding in the west of the senior circuit. I have serious reservations about calling an NL pitcher great in any way. Kind of like calling a CFL player an elite football.player
admin Site Manager Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 Greinke has given up one run or less in 18 of 26 starts. That's unbelievable.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Bannable post. Why, most offenses blow in the NL, and the pitcher hits 2 times a game with a below replacement level pinch hitter hitting 1 or 2 times usually. Put Chris Sale in the NL west and he might have 400 K's a year (yes I know that's an exaggeration)
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Bannable post. This is kinda like Tom Cruise in The Firm nailing all those mobsters on mail fraud

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Is there anyone in the AL as helplessly awful as the three or four worst in the NL? I'd take Oakland and Boston over the NL bottom feeders any day.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Milwaukee had a completely shite start but they're kind of redeemable, aren't they? I don't think they're pushovers in the way other bad NL teams are. Point taken though. The NL is bad.
