Commissioner Manfred cites the entertainment of Bartolo Colon's AB's as the greatest argument against the DH in the NL. I love this guy

I dunno. He wanted to I am sure. But he promised Navarro a starting job in a trade. Maybe AZ couldn't promise that. Anyway, this f*** of a season will end and it becomes moot. Romero, Navarro, Izturis, MB and Dickey off the payroll.

Who's Navarro to demand a starting job if he's traded? That's ridiculous. If AA is making promises to scrubs then this is hilarious.

How about Lance McCullers of the Astros? 9IP, 4H, 1ER, 11Ks, 1.88 ERA. He's basically replaced McHugh(who has regressed significantly) as part of the 1-2 punch in the Astros rotation. And the Orioles stink. That team will be interesting to watch at the deadline.. a fire sale is a strong possibility, as many of their players are free agents after this season.

They have the same record as the Jays

This is amazing. Rzep asking for a 50 gallon tub of lube is the best.

no hits, no walks for 11 and one third innings...and they lose the game 2-1 in 16.

This was their 7th. Lakeland Bottom of the 7th

Jiwan James reaches on a throwing error by shortstop Tyler Wade. Jiwan James to 2nd.

With Brett Pirtle batting, wild pitch by Jordan Montgomery, Jiwan James to 3rd.

Dominic Ficociello hit by pitch.

Pitching Change: Andury Acevedo replaces Jordan Montgomery.

With Ben Verlander batting, wild pitch by Andury Acevedo, Dominic Ficociello to 2nd.

Ben Verlander strikes out swinging.

He probably should have specified that the tub of lube be new :)

The Jays have now jumped to 3rd place in the East.

Next team to catch is Tampa (though they are winning tonight so far). One team at a time.

Featherston and his -64 wRC just pinch ran in the 9th and got caught stealing by Rene Rivera. Game not over yet though. Runners on the corners with 1 out.

Boxberger with his 3rd blown save in a week.

MLB Network Radio @MLBNetworkRadio #DBacks Dave Stewart tells us that they were targeting #BlueJays Dioner Navarro prior to acquiring Wellington Castillo from #Mariners

So um, isn't this a case of tampering?

The better question is why the f*** is Navarro not in Arizona right now if that's the case.

1.) He was injured for over a month

2.) Castillo has more club control than Navarro.

Some guy on Twitter: "Is this a joke?"

I refuse to believe there are people this dumb in the world.

3) DBacks GM openly said he'd prefer Navarro, making 1 and 2 invalid.

The Diamondbacks have been pursuing Navarro since December and their GM literally said he was #1 on their list. The Blue Jays have maintained since December that they wish to trade Navarro and have been expressly shopping for pitching depth since December. The Diamondbacks had a zillion pitchers participate in open competition during camp.

There is no reason for this to have not happened.

Maybe they wanted money in return for any decent pitching.

Besides, Castillo has been garbage lately, it's possible they may still want Navarro.

I find it likely that he didn't want to give up anything good for Navarro (like a reliever) and felt that Gosewich was a suitable replacement. Not to mention that Navarro only has control for 1 year. Why throw away more valuable pieces that have more control when you are not going to contend?

Why is everyone so quick to criticize AA for a non-trade when we haven't even seen their request.
