fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 And by messed up HanRam you totally mean making him hit a meager 140 wRC+ with a .221 BABIP right? His current fWAR surprised me though at -0.1, is his defence really that s*** that it's bringing him down that much?

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Yes http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=fld&lg=all&qual=y&type=1&season=2015&month=0&season1=2015&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=23,a Yes, he looks like he's not even trying out there. Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Thanks! Now please focus your attention on the post I made previous to this, that you guys conveniently ignored! So did Escobar's defense fall off a cliff or something?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 So did Escobar's defense fall off a cliff or something? He's playing 3B regularly for the first time since being with the Braves! His bat on the other hand, fire!
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Nice heads up play by Sogard! Come on A's...
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 That was quick, f*** you Sandoval
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Shelby "bust" Miller with another solid start tonight 7 IP 3H 0 ER 2BB 8SO In his last 3 starts he's gone 23IP 12H 6BB 25 SO. Could he finally be turning the corner? His cutter and curveball both looked improved from the seasons past as does the command of his fastball.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 That was quick, f*** you Sandoval 10 losses for the A's pen now..

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Bryant for Harvey If I had to guess, Matz for Baez.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 If I had to guess, Matz for Baez. I could see that, or Niese for Soler or Schwarber?
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I could see that, or Niese for Soler or Schwarber? Too much for Niese. I could see Niese to the Cubs for a lesser prospect or two though.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Too much for Niese. I could see Niese to the Cubs for a lesser prospect or two though. Baez for Niese?
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Baez for Niese? I could see the Cubs into it. Baez is interesting because he suxxxxx, but it's easy to see how a team could still really like him.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Too much for Niese. I could see Niese to the Cubs for a lesser prospect or two though. Yeah, possibly.
LTR Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Teams in the AL with an "ace": Mariners - Hernandez White Sox - Sale Indians - Kluber Tigers - Price Yankees - Pineda / Tanaka (DL) Angels - Richards Astros - Keuchel Athletics - Kazmir / Gray (sort of) Orioles - Jimenez Rangers - Darvish (DL) Rays - Archer Teams in the AL without an "ace": Blue Jays Twins Red Sox Royals
LTR Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 You can't be an ace if you're on the DL. They have an ace in their possession, obviously he's not actively pitching. Also, Phil Hughes is much better than Ubaldo. Don't be stupid.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Teams in the AL with an "ace": Mariners - Hernandez White Sox - Sale Indians - Kluber Tigers - Price Yankees - Pineda / Tanaka (DL) Angels - Richards Astros - Keuchel Athletics - Kazmir / Gray (sort of) Orioles - Jimenez Rangers - Darvish (DL) Rays - Archer Teams in the AL without an "ace": Blue Jays Twins Red Sox Royals You've got Yankees with Tanaka and Rangers with Darvish as aces on the DL. Yet the Jays do not have an "ace". StroShow? Stroman is certainly better than at least 3 pitchers you've got listed as "ace". Fail.

nmrch Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Call me crazy but I'm not willing to give a guy with less than one season under his belt "ace" status. And a guy like Jimenez who oscillates between terrible seasons and good ones deserves "ace status"?
LTR Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Durability is a component of acehood. You really think Ubaldo is a better pitcher right now than Hughes? Ubaldo looks like an ace this year and his stats reflect that, he's had ace-like seasons before.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Ubaldo looks like an ace this year and his stats reflect that, he's had ace-like seasons before. Consistency is also something that an ace should qualify for.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Ubaldo an Ace, and Boxy a good fantasy owner. False
LTR Verified Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Consistency is also something that an ace should qualify for. Yeah. He's not a true ace, but he's playing the part this year. People are getting hung up over the word ace. The point is most of the teams have that blockbuster guy, only a few don't.
