Well if he wasn't clean wouldn't he get suspended. Its not like Baseball wants to do him any favours. If anything they want his career too end so they can burry him for good.

One of these days you might learn how to spell above a 5th grade level, but I doubt it.

You're a very stupid little boy, john.

Only 3 players qualify from the Blue Jays though, so it's either Martin, Travis or Donaldson...

Still surprising to see Donaldson so far down and negative in all categories.

From watching him this season, his arm hasn't been terrible. I don't recall any routine throws being airmailed.

His range seems good.

Fielding I can recall a few blunders, but it's normal to have those over the course of the season.

I wonder if the new turf is messing with the stats?

There's so much noise in those numbers right now that it doesn't even make sense to look for a reason. You can just say "noise".

By the next UZR update he could very well be +3, and on pace for his typical +10 season.

Pretty sure fangraphs has always mentioned to never read much in to UZR/defensive scores for like < half a season to grade a player. I think defensive stats need time to balance out, maybe to adjust to true league averages? I'm not sure.

Alright I'll trust you nerds :P

Although defensive metrics really don't make sense to me.

Mike Trout last year for example was rated almost as bad as Melky Cabrera. Not sure if he was injured.

They take multiple seasons to = true talent.

That's not to say that measurements from 1 season aren't decent measures of what actually happened.

Think of batting average in a 1 or 2 month sample. A .300 hitter can hit .200 in April. He actually hit .200 that month, but it doesn't make him a .200 hitter. Dee Gordon is hitting like .450 and he's probably a .280 hitter true talent.

With 1 year of defensive metrics I would say that they would be a decent measurement of what actually happened, but not a great measurement of true talent.

With 1 month of defensive metrics they probably aren't either thing. At the team level they might be a decent measurement but not yet at the individual player level.
