Happ and Lind are just experiencing the high of leaving the Blue Jays.

Tends to make players better just by changing uniforms.

Should increase the trade value of EE and JB

Stanton on some kind of sick tear with the dingers this week. Another almost 500 feet again today. Poor fella on such a s***** team, just as well for us to have him if he's gonna play on a s***** team.

I would hesitate to use the word "poor" for someone who just signed the largest contract in MLB history. If he didn't want to play in Miami then he didn't need to sign. He's knew what he was getting into.

Regardless, he's a monster and a joy to watch.

Everyone here hated Happ, lets see all the armchair GMs come out now.

No, no they didn't and many on here saw the problems inherent in trading for an oft-injured outfielder.

I've been a huge fan of this trade from the beginning.

I wasn't and he would look better in our rotation right now than Estrada.

He's a fundamentally changed pitcher this year, but that couldn't really have been predicted. It was a great trade for the Blue Jays.

I-I...Words fail me.

I appreciate that my views could be interpreted that way, but in all honesty I was not convinced of the trade from day one. Saunders record of injuries and the fans view of him in Seattle (a good player when healthy, but not very often healthy) gave me pause for concern about this trade from the beginning. It was really the hardcore stats guys on here who drooled over his WAR potential.

In retrospect of course the loss of Stroman, the trading of Graveman and Nolin and the utter inability of the Front Office to address the SP/Bullpen in the offseason makes this trade look even worse.

The loss of Stroman truly sucked, but Graveman and Nolin are s***, in consideration towards what we have at 3rd base. I'll agree about the Lind deal, I hated it as soon as I heard it. As for Saunders and Happ, that remains to be seen, we're talking about 2 seasons of WAR against 1 year of an inflated contract in Happ, way too early to judge. Now depth, that's entirely different and on AA, period. That trade for Saunders was efficient, seeing as the Jays had no cash for Cabrera, and we can look at that also...;)

So you hated the Donaldson trade then, just to be clear.

Crazy how Lawrie, Graveman and Barreto have all been just awful so far this season. Donaldson looks like a steal right now.

He is never once said that. Losing depth in Graveman and Nolin make it look worse, in retrospect.

If the Donaldson trade happens first, I doubt AA trades Happ.

Something has to be considered bad to become worse. Maybe he means, not as good.

Just wanted to be clear. That's a trade you make 10 out of 10 times.

Plus, I'm pretty sure the Donaldson trade took place before the Happ trade.

All good man.

Trading 1 year of Happ for 2 of Saunders (or any other similar OF) was fine. Who knows maybe AA tried to sign another SP and struck out.

We'll see what happens.

I agree. I have no problem with the trade.

WTF is a sprinkler doing in the outfield when the Jays outfielders are shading fly balls?!!!

I still trade Happ for Saunders 100x.

Sprinklers are in all ball fields, just not as well done in the MLB, you know this?

Happ was just a 5th starter though...I don't have a problem dealing him especially since he wasn't anything special on an upside bat like Saunders. The Jays needed a LF since Melky left anyways, so it made sense.

Of course, though sprinklers not placed properly in the outfield shouldn't be causing players to get injured.

No s***, it was the Dunedin shithole. Just like I played on fields in Minor-Bantam ball.

The Jays need to get a new spring training facility. It's a shithole like you said.

The hind-sight is glorious though...either you saw the breakdown or you didn't. I saw great potential to win a pennant, I was also looking at a potential disaster, it seems to be taking the latter. s*** happens and time moves on, I wish people would hold their strength on, like many few do. Well, besides the troglodytes, we all hoped, but folks like Hurl/BTS/Smokey have never liked our FO amongst others, the season will unfold and the moves in itself will be rather interesting, does AA have money or not, etc, etc, will he be locked down, who knows!
