I don't know how to delete my own thread. But this is nice news for the Sox. They are clearly done with Viciedo, I think.

A mod will merge it.

Viciedo to Mariners lol

This will probably be the year that Chris Sale's elbow finally explodes.

And then the Cubs finish with a higher win total, lol.

damn. was hoping the royals would nab him to get a 1st rounder but whatever this is fine, keep him out of the division

That's not how it works.

No matter what team signed Cabrera the Jays would be getting a sandwich pick between the 1st and 2nd round

3/$45M maybe

Cue those who comment on sportsnet.ca articles that Melky should've been re-signed at that price.

I think that's semi-reasonable for Melky if you're high up on the win curve, which the White Sox think they are for some reason, but I prefer Saunders regardless, by quite a bit. Grateful for everything Melky did for this org though.

The 1.7 WAR over 2 years?

Dude played through a tumor. I have a lot of respect for anyone that can put up a 90ish wRC+ in the MLB with a god damn growth.

Good - as long as he didn't sign with the Orioles.

Why? I was hoping the O's would give him 4-5 years and slowly enjoy watching him deteriorate throughout those years. Eventually the O's would suffer through a LF that is terrible defensively and cannot be moved to DH due to the logjam they have with Davis/Pearce.

Now I can only hope they get Rasmus and his crazy ass family.

Well sure, I respect that too, but the way you said it made it seem like the guy became a leader of the team while starting his own charity to help local Toronto kids.

I just said thank you but it's like 1 AM so I'll give you this one. :P

Decent deal for Chicago if true. Seems fair.

They probably have to value the cost of a win relative to their position on the win curve as something like $8.5 million (at least) to break even on this deal, now that I do the back of the napkin math on this.
