I know its not all O's fans because there are some decent ones(the one gentleman that posted on here) but the ones on that f***ing board make all the other ones look like s*** heads.

No kidding. I never had anything against Orioles fans at all until I started to read Orioleshangout a bit a couple years ago. I wonder if a lot of their fans are like that or it's just the particular culture over at that board. But yeesh.

Don't get me wrong I think these guys are insane and 95% of Jays fans don't deserve a comp...but how long ago did Law leave us now? I think it's 9 years now and he can't write anything bad about a Jays prospect without something being said.

Well first of all, I think a large amount of us here appreciate what Law does as a prospects guy and we constantly refer to his prospect lists, tweets and chats. We also take serious notice when Law does say something good about a Jays prospect. But the two main differences I see in the Jays/Law and O's/Rosenthal thing are a) there aren't as many moron Jays fans that blindly s*** on everything Law says simply out of bias and spite, and B) Law comes off as a douchebag to fans of nearly every team. The guy seriously got himself a time out on twitter.

As someone who didn't follow the Jays when Law worked with them and having no real opinion of Law one way or another, I think there's a world of difference in the personalities between Law and Rosenthal.

Look at things like Burnett spurning the Jays for the Yankees, or Danks talking s*** to Bautista on the field, or the White Sox bullpen starting the whole man-in-white thing. I don't know anybody who hates those players because of some trivial ******** thing from years ago.

Martin accused the Jays of sign stealing and rejected the Canadian WBC team because they didn't let him play shortstop, yet everyone here still appreciated his talents enough to welcome him with open arms when they signed him.

Even looking at things that happened a long time ago, I don't know anybody that's clinging to ancient history and hating on the Tigers for their heated rivalry with the Jays in the 80s and 90s. It's just f***ing weird that O's fans are like that. There really isn't any conceivable comparison, at least from what I've seen.

Oh, was that the Curt Schilling/evolution thing or something else?

Well, that happened lol

New forum poster award: resident retard, first unanimous vote to date?

Someone who argues that Goins is a 2-war player looks brilliant when he's standing next to the guy that believes in the man-in-white, or the guy that wants Donaldson and Hoffman for Duquette.

Oh, was that the Curt Schilling/evolution thing or something else?

I don't remember, probably.

While we are talking about Rosenthal, he has an interview with Manfred tonight and I saw a clip of it. I think it was a 20 second clip and I just wanted to kick Ken in the teeth. Speaking of teeth, Gaptooth Manfred has moments where he reminds me of Andre from The League.

In case anyone needs a reminder of why we still hate the Tigers.

Selig's legacy was PEDs, Manfred's will be eliminating the use of SPUNK: Sports Performance Utility Nutrient Kick. He'll later be disgraced when it becomes public knowledge that his favourite flavour was the black kind.

And Rasmus took a dirty slide into Infante that put him out for a month, in a year where Infante was actually valuable. Who cares? It's done. It's in the past. At most you should hate the player. It has nothing to do with the team that the guy played for.

Ill tell you what, when his name came up, i Googled him and it was showing in a bunch of places that he was chairman. I guess it's possible it wasn't an old thing, but who knows.

I too was googling his name and came across an interesting article - I really did not know all this was taking place behind closed doors.

Meh, that's how fanbases work, there's quite a few that are are against that derivative.

The third question was on point and DD's response was very telling.

That relationship between him and Angelos is thoroughly broken at this point.

Angelos is so selfish. He doesn't deserve that hermoso name.

I'd really to hear what he has to say, but DD's connection is just f***in awful. The Peter Angelos corporate cell phone:

Really surprised me at how blatant it came off, as indirect as it may have been intended. That's gotta be brutal for O's fans. I love it.

Can you post what he said?..... The audio doesn't help me

TL;DR:

Asked why he didn't just get traded for a utility guy and allowed the promotion.

DD: Good question. I don't have an answer for that.

Asked if he has a good relationship with Angelos still (go for lunch etc.).

DD: Relationship is professional.

I'll be shocked if he's in their org a year from now.

Jim Bowden: For your family, an opportunity to be the CEO of an organization like the Toronto Blue Jays is not something I think you're supposed to stand in the way of someone doing. I know when John Henry didn't want to lose Theo Epstein, but when he had a chance to go over and run the Chicago Cubs, a utility player later it was done, and you don't stand in the way of someone progressing. Here is a unique opportunity for you and your family, I'm not understanding why it's not done.

Dan Duquette: Yeah well, that's a good question Jim, you know I don't have the answer to that question.

Jim Bowden: Dan, your relationship with Peter Angelos today, are you guys on good terms, are you guys having lunch and dinner and talking everyday? How is that personal relationship working after this Toronto blunder.

Dan Duquette: Uh well, we got umm, a professional relationship. Mr. Angelos is supportive of all the things (?that I've asked him to support here?), and umm, I'm sure he'll continue to do that.

The interesting part, now that it's wide known that we are looking for a CEO, we may hire someone else and he may not work for the O's still.

There will be a lot of qualified people come available between now and October. There are probably some available now who have contacted the FO. And like a few of you surely think, I'd be shocked if DD is still with Baltimore come October.
