Nah I wouldn't stop posting because he thinks I'm someone else. The OH had a guy make a whole bunch of accounts probably a year or so ago. It was a fiasco. So I understand if he is apprehensive.

I'm pretty sure moderators or the owner of this site can identify people from their ip address and notice if it is the same one creating new accounts.

Thanks for being a civil poster. Its nice to have fans from other teams post here once in a while, especially if they're like you.

Yeah we all used to post on the official MLB Jays forum, and we had a problem with this guy that would create hundreds of accounts, all including "dogg" or "zee". He would create like 10-20 topics a day and talk to himself with his multiple accounts. It actually caused the creation of this website, and all of the posters from the old forum moved to this one. That happened in May of 2013.

Anyways, thats the history of our forum here. Its doing pretty well now.

Limiting your trade partners is childish and retarded.... So ya, you're probably right.

At least by getting rid of Beest Jays open up overpaying for Boras clients.

Can we keep Baltbbalfan and ban the other two?

Do you mean Spanky and Long Time Reader?

Seriously, all the O's guys that came here to the board so far have been calm and are welcome to continue posting all they want. There is an automatic rivalry when fans of opposing teams post on message boards (although no one gets on me for my Rays love because I'm not taken serious enough) but no need to automatically dismiss anyone.

Pretty sure LTR is trying to get banned on purpose. It's weird because he's actually really knowledgeable.

Bottom line the timing is flat out awful. You do this after the season not in December.

Holy s***, did the MLB expand the schedule? I never knew the season ran until December.

It seems like the compensation cannot be any major league players which means we can't give them anyone who is on the 40 man roster.

Currently players like: Sanchez, Norris, Pompey and Stroman are on the 40 list among all the other major leaguers so they can forget about getting any of our top prospects.

Wrong you guys like using this as comp MLB players can be traded.

Chicago Cubs

Carpenter was called up to the majors for the first time with the Chicago Cubs on June 14, 2011.[1] He made his debut that day against the Milwaukee Brewers, pitching two-thirds of an inning with one strikeout.

Boston Red Sox

Carpenter was dealt to the Boston Red Sox on February 21, 2012 as compensation for the Cubs hiring then-Boston General Manager Theo Epstein.[2]

Carpenter was designated for assignment on January 22, 2013 to the Pawtucket Red Sox to make room for newly signed Mike Napoli.[3]

I know this may seem like a steep price to pay but....

What if we agree to take JP Arenciba's minor league contract from Baltimore and in return we get Dan.

Only if he agrees to spend 100% of his time on Twitter and never sets foot on a baseball field.

Just received my invitation to the State of the Franchise which will be held in 3 weeks time and ...

Beeston should be there.

Invitation reads (the same as always):

"I will be joined by Alex Anthopolous and John Gibbons for an open discussion on the direction of the club."

Sincerely,

Paul Beeston

I remember this was a complete waste of time last season. Although the biggest acquisitions at the time were Erik Kratz and Dioner Navarro (IIRC).

as a Jays fan, any time you have the opportunity to talk with Alex/Gibby/Beeston over a drink (and off the record) ain't a bad thing.

Yeah being there in person would be sweet. Watching it on tv not so much. Saying that, i'm sure ill watch it like always.

It's a glorified press conference. Questions are vetted, so that nothing they don't want to answer gets asked. When I got asked to submit my questions in advanced four years ago I just about left. Two years ago I sent a question in ahead of time but I knew the "By my calculation the Marlins trade is a $100M value loss. What is the back up plan if you don't make the playoffs in the next two years?" wouldn't get asked

there's a formal public part with the media present that is recorded ... but there's a big chunk of time outside of that where the three of them mingle around and there's plenty of opportunity to talk with each of them basically one-on-one ... where i've found them to be more candid.

Should ask AA if he feels like hes gone if Duquette comes in. The writing is pretty much on the wall. Tbh I'd rather just keep AA GM than hire DD. While AA's roster management hasn't been the greatest at times he has developed a really good farm system and his moves this offseason have been pretty damn good.

whether DD comes aboard or not, I think Alex knows that (as far as remaining the GM) it's playoffs or bust for him this year.

Yeah but if they make the playoffs and DD comes he still probably won't be here for longer. DD probably has a huge ego and will want to do the GM duties himself.
