Laika Community Moderator Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 If I had to guess, I'd say the compensation package/player will be good enough to annoy the overly-sensitive portion of the Blue Jays fan base, but still worth basically nothing. Maybe some relief prospect like Rasmussen or Stilson.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 If the Jays traded Pillar for Duquette and spent some money to replace Pillar with Aoki, that would probably give the team a better l/r balance and leave them no worse off on the field.

Can Aoki play CF? - NO Pillar is an useful piece right now

baubau Verified Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I am hoping its Kyle Drabek or Liam Hendricks.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I am hoping its Kyle Drabek or Liam Hendricks. Liam Hendriks >>> Kyle Drabek Edit: Looks like Roster Ressource has updated their chart to reflect the fact that Hendriks is out of options (like Hurl was saying all along): http://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-toronto-blue-jays/. That hurts his value.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Who is negotiating this compensation? That is what scares the hell out of me.
baubau Verified Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Liam Hendricks >>> Kyle Drabek While I agree, I have shell shock with Liam. He is unable to keep his pitches low and gives up far too many fly balls. Not a great recipe in our park. Were we designed like the A's park, then he might be half decent. Its so bad there were jokes about Bautista selecting Liam as his pitcher for the HR derby.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Who is negotiating this compensation? That is what scares the hell out of me. The article suggests it might be Showalter which is fine with me. I'd prefer to negotiate with a manager over a front office guy any day. A manager is likely to prefer a piece he can use right away over a piece with more upside.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I think he means on our side. I'm sure nothing would happen without AA's approval though. AA is smart again. He's trying to bring home his new boss.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 And the only thing more pathetic, disgusting and embarrassing than the O's board in regards to this situation is this tweet by Stoeten: Did people really click "favorite" on a tweet that actually contained the words "Totes adorbs"? f***ing hell.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Well most people here said that Stoeten had the IQ of a 13 year old girl......

But it doesnt matter, because Os arent budging. Dan ConnollyVerified account @danconnollysun Angelos reiterates Duq signed thru 2018: "He works for the Orioles. Hes got a contract. He is very sophisticated. He understands ... that."
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 It would be hilarious if Selig's last act as commissioner was to pressure the O's into letting Duquette go to the Jays as an act of animosity stemming from the MASN clusterf***.
