Maahfaace Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 This arguably seems to be the biggest area of need left for the Jays after AA went ninja style this off-season. Their are few options left that are established and could close for the Jays (Romo, Miller, K-Rod, Neshek, Soriano). I also wouldnt be opposed to bringing back Morrow in a relief role if its a 1 year deal. Anyone have idea's who the Jays should target to fill the bullpen?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I don't think Morrow comes back on a 1 year contract to work out of the bull pen. Someone will take a flyer on him and give him a starting role.

Acquire an ace, and keep Sanchez in the pen really sures things up.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Morrow beachy Los del v neshek Crain gregerson I think Romo or Axford would also be interesting.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 How much for Andrew Miller? LOLOLOL
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Not Romo, Axford maybe but he's probably bad. Ogando. I forgot about Ogando. Yeah, that would be a good one. As for Romo, he struggled in the first half of the season last year, but was pretty much back to normal in the second half. I'm thinking he probably signs at a discount if he's guaranteed the closer role, and outside of Roberson and Miller, probably produces just as much value as anyone else. Axford is basically Delabar with closing experience, and likely is in the 1 to 1.5M range. If Brett Anderson is ready to give up being a starter, he'd be an excellent BP arm as well.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Back to Seattle Wouldn't be a bad idea for him, probably would prefer an NL team though.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 He'll be a clozer somewhere. Anderson is a good idea.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Anyone of these starters converted to the pen could make excellent relievers. Gavin Floyd Franklin Morales Joe Saunders Kevin Slowey Edinson Volquez

It's too bad the collapse of Ricky Romero was so epic he can't even provide us 30-40 innings of mop up work in the last year of his contract.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Ya I'm still very high on Delabar. I'm not high, but hopeful. I don't think there's any reason one should think he can't bounce back. He's overcome far more, unless there's something about his current pickle I'm unaware of.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Romero has the ability to bounce back but not counting on him for anything. He is just a bonus
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Romero has the ability to bounce back but not counting on him for anything. He is just a bonus Romero is not a bonus, he is a huge black hole towards our payroll. Luckily he will soon be off the payroll after this coming season.
