Also, didn't the oblique strain happen at Yankee stadium?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 http://backinblue.kc-media.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/lawrie-crash.gif He didn't get hurt on this play because he landed on cement, not turf. I think he's on to something.

vdartanian Verified Member Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Can't blame his violent, multiple-component hacks on the RC turf http://gifs.houseofthebluebird.com/wp-content/uploads/LawrieHRFrontSlow.gif although any comments that help get the rug out of RC i'm in favor of.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Hit on the hand because of the turf...
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 2011 - broke his hand in the minors 2012 - oblique strain (30 games) 2013 - ribcage injury (13 games) 2013 - sprained ankle (41 games) 2014 - fractured finger (36 games) 2014 - oblique strain (48 games) The turf wouldn't be an issue if idiots like Lawrie didn't insist on blaming it for completely unrelated injuries.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Hit on the hand because of the turf... Turf also responsible for him missing 80 games with an abdomen strain, apparently.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Grass would have also deadened the helmet he threw at that umpire, resulting in fewer games missed. No way the helmet takes that hop on grass.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 It just dawned on me that this year's team is going to be the most likable group in awhile with both JPA and Lawrie gone.
bowld Verified Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 ^ just need to get rid of Dickey (and Thole)
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Donaldson, Martin, and Edwin are so loveable. Yup. Also Buehrle is the bestest.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Those feels: http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=3B 1.3 more WAR outta 3B than the Red Sox who just spent something like a billion dollars to get a 3B...
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Lawrie is an idiot. what was your first clue?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 It just dawned on me that this year's team is going to be the most likable group in awhile with both JPA and Lawrie gone. A lot of quiet guys. should be a lot less whining at home plate. just bautista left
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Well, when he continues to struggle in Oakland and likely makes another annual trip to the DL, and frequently whines, Oakland fans will drive him out quickly.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 what was your first clue? Mine was when he was yelling at Lind to tag from 3rd, showed his true colors there. Absolutely no game awareness plus Lind was apparently one of his better friends....
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Mine was when he was yelling at Lind to tag from 3rd, showed his true colors there. Absolutely no game awareness plus Lind was apparently one of his better friends.... Yeah, that was embarrassing.

Only one incident occurred. I didn't think he should have been thrown out from the news reports, but he should have kept his mouth shut in that situation anyways.

Dirty SlobberKnocker Verified Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Donaldson, Martin, and Edwin are so loveable. Martin is still a douche for not playing for team Canada because he wanted to play SS instead of catcher.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Martin is still a douche for not playing for team Canada because he wanted to play SS instead of catcher. Martin had gone through a really hard season with lots of injuries. I dont blame him.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 The real reason was he thought it would be difficult to learn 2 pitching staffs in one spring training. No doubt he will compete for us next time. Even if he doesn't, who gives a f***. Canada doesn't really care about baseball anyways.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Donaldson, Martin, and Edwin are so loveable. I want every one of them to get parrots for their arms!

Absolutely no game awareness plus Lind was apparently one of his better friends.... That was a time where I wish Gibby "Hillbranded" him. The guy acted like he was on something at times. I don't mind high energy people or those who give it there all but he seemed like he went out of his way to find ways to get hurt. s*** happens and minor injuries can re-aggravate but damn blaming the turf? I'm not saying the turf probably doesn't contribute to some degree or cause some injuries (wear and tear, or what happened to Johnny Mac when his ankle was caught in the seem between the dirt and turf) but bouncing around like you're in bubble wrap and diving into the stands, sometimes playing "too hard" would all be better than the turf considering he also manned a portion where there was more dirt than most other places. We'll see how he does in Oakland. He'll likely wind up on the DL there too if he doesn't calm down and be on his way out if he keeps being a douche since he's not the "country's golden boy player" or some such nonsense that seemed to give him more of a leash than other younger player who pulled half the crap he did.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 AA is flushing out the douche bags from the team and I'm loving it.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 I wonder how many stories about Brett will come out now that he's gone. I'll start with one...Hit a pillar (not the player) in the RC parking lot doing donuts in his car. While on the DL for his Oblique too.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Lawrie, Rasmus, and JPA (last season) off this team is a long time coming.
