I think the right course of action is to resign Melky. He fits in very well with this batting lineup.

I'm unsure if Bruce was because of the shifts or injury that he had such a down year. He's as pull happy as Jose once was.

 

I'd rather have Bruce than Cabrerra, and I'd rather have Tomas over both.

I'm fine with Saunders or Fowler in LF honestly. I would take a gamble on Bruce, but not for one of our young pitchers.

 

If Melky came on a 3 year deal I'd take him as well. Guy is only 30 so I don't know why people think he is going to fall off a cliff in the short term. Bad D, good O for the next few years.

No one can be worse than Melky in the OF.

From what little I saw of Tomas, and scouting reports, the Cuban might be an impact hitter (ALA Abreu, Puig, Soler)

Cincy going to want to move salary so young player going other way. I wouldn't move Sanchez or Stroman. A lot of outfielders being shopped besides Bruce. Upton, Kemp, Ethier to name a few. NL outfielder last one we brought in suppose to be all that, Rasmus was terribly overrated.

Stroman is already worth more than any player on their roster IMO only

Trading Sanchez for Bruce would be a mistake. Bruce has power, but he strikesout a ton, struggles to get on base, sucks against lefties, and is an odd fit in LF.

 

Trading Lind for Estrada and than Sanchez for Bruce would break my heart.

I'm not sure I'd say Bruce sucks against lefties. Career .723 OPS against them...mostly based on slg, but still lefty on left a >.700 OPS could be worse.

 

I'm largely in the camp that thinks Bruce had a random bad year, and based on his history and age he'll probably rebound quite a bit.

Ironically he has on the AL East teams on there Yanks, Red Sox, Rays, Jays...... You would think he would want to get into some of them hitter friendly parks.

In the next CBA they should get rid of no trade lists. Either full no trade clause or nothing. Players union always talk of owners collusion, this is player collusion in a way.

Not a fair level playing field for teams.

He can still certainly waive that, but take it for what its worth.
