It was also Reyes who ended the Jays 10 game winning streak when we it felt like they were going to keep winning forever
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Good read. It was also Reyes who ended the Jays 10 game winning streak when we it felt like they were going to keep winning forever Yep, rest of the team and the other team had absolutely nothing to do with it.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Yep, rest of the team and the other team had absolutely nothing to do with it. Bottom of the ninth 2 outs No one on Reyes throws a simple grounder away
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Bottom of the ninth 2 outs No one on Reyes throws a simple grounder away And yet, if the Jays were winning by 20 already, that wouldn't have mattered... One play does not a game make.

Steveorama Verified Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 All winter we have been complaining about needing a 2nd baseman. I reality, we should have been seeking a shortstop, and preparing to move Reyes to 2B.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 They didn't talk at all about Reyes' jumps, which is the main reason. Lawrie starts moving immediately at contact and Reyes doesn't move until the ball is past the mound. I would rather keep Reyes at SS though. I'd rather have a decent arm at SS with no range, his arm is wasted at 2B. Yeah everyone says move him to 2B but I almost think 3B or the OF would be a better move for him.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Yeah, if Reyes moves anywhere it should be 3B, but obviously with Donaldson here, that won't (and shouldn't) happen. I'd rather have Travis at 2B for the next six years than Reyes in his declining years, too. Put him at short and hope his bat keeps making up for his D. Or trade him to San Diego, the one team that might actually take him.

Lets head back
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Now that I think about it, he might lead the league in HBP because of this...

What do you think about this guy's comment on that same article? http://i.gyazo.com/e2a2ec8e7a895be41b000b7243ca10c2.png I'll admit that I haven't heard much mention of this DRA metric before.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 So this is the bullpen we are sticking with then, we are just going to ignore Krod and Soriano Sigh
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I had a dream that the Jays made Dickey a reliever and he pitched 200 innings out of the bullpen LMAO. He had like 10 WAR

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Why not Joba, why not us? High money, low produshowwnn
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 High money, low produshowwnn Do you really think he'll get high money at this point, with other relievers and current/former closers available. Its a buyers market. What do you think he ends up getting?

fireballW Verified Member Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I'm excited to see the new guys we got, but after years of trying to have an optimistic outlook at the beginning of the past seasons, this season all I can notice are the holes. The outfield and middle infield will be terrible to watch once the inevitable injuries start to hit us. Past years I would just decide to be really optimistic on guys like Travis saving us, but it never happens. I expect Pompey to also start off very poorly. We still haven't had a prospect in a very, very long time that has come up and shown he can consistently hit. Seriously, Adam Lind is about the last decent hitting player I remember coming through our system.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 3-4M is a lot of money. AA was about to throw 2M at a minor league deal. If you were to ask me who I would rather have on this team between Navarro and Chamberlain, id rather have the reliever.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 I'd definitely throw 3-4 M at Joba, and I assume AA would too if there was cash available.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I'd definitely throw 3-4 M at Joba, and I assume AA would too if there was cash available. The reports on Joba a while ago was that he had multiple offers this offseason, but didn't want to play in those cities. I have to think we might have been one of them.

Question might be if AA will go back and make another offer once ST starts. If he still hasn't signed in a couple weeks he might have to take what's offered
