DH12 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Hutchinson may be done for the year. He looks to be hitting a wall after his Tommy John surgery year and they probably have an innings cap on him anyway. More pitching problems for the Jays

And BTW, Hutchison isn't close to his innings limit. Career high is 149.1 IP. So he could still go at least 170-180 IP.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Well, time for AA to get another f***ing starter.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Did you really have to make a new thread just for this?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Does anyone have any good news. It would be nice to hear good news for once The bullpen was good last night! Bautista is in fire EE and Lind back any day
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 stop making threads If only there was a song we could send to DH12 about it

More pitching problems for the Jays Buehrle is the one that has crashed into a wall and plummeted into the abyss.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 23 year old with promising peripherals who is only one year removed from TJS. Drabek flamed out. Guy couldn't throw a ball into the ocean. Romero flamed out. Hutch is clearly just experiencing growing pains. Pitching in the majors is kinda hard. I don't see any reason to worry about him at all.
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Buehrle is the one that has crashed into a wall and plummeted into the abyss. Buerhle pulled a Hutch last night giving up 6 in 6 (or under). Hutch has plateaued and coughed up the 6 in 6 his last few consecutive games but I'm hoping he turns it around and shows us something different tonight. If he coughs up yet another 6 in 6 that will be 3 straight and what other red flag will be needed..
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Pitching in the majors is kinda hard. Was going to thank. Saw Stoeten level analysis. Didn't thank.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Really worried about Hutch guys. Don't know what to do with him.

Between this and today's start, I think we can all feel somewhat relieved that reports of Hutch's demise were premature. Maybe the problem was opposite, maybe the long layoff around the All-Star game threw him off or maybe it was just nothing but normal variation. In any case, it's hard to know were to set expectation for Hutch ROS. He's essentially saved the rotation by providing more than could have been asked for but that doesn't mean he doesn't still have more to give. The pessimistic instinct is to think he'll turn into a pumpkin anytime now but that's probably not entirely rational.

Unlikely he will pitch the full season coming off of tommy John surgery

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 they won't risk long term health on hutchison for a playoff push do you even pay attention to the Jays? AA addressed the innings limit for hutch prior to the season even starting. He's on pace for 185ish innings. There's no danger of him being shut down if they are in the playoff hunt. They can have him skip a start or limit his innings in starts late if they want to keep his innings pitched down.
