saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 LOL, to be expected, the resident Blue Jays homer to the rescue. It's mostly a couple of them, like Navarro and Reyes, who play bad defense and celebrate hits as a big f***ing deal. How about they concentrate on their deficient defense instead... I'm not sure having a defeatist attitude and being down all the time is anywhere in sports psychologists handbooks on how to succeed. I'm sure no one feels worse about mistakes when they happen then the players making them. Ideally you want players learn from mistakes, but to have short memories and play with confidence. As much as Reyes smiles, you can tell his mistakes have gotten to him at times this season and he hasn't played with a lot of confidence at times. I'm quite happy to see him celebrating. If Reyes plays loose and with confidence his bat and speed will help the team. Thanks for the laugh though.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 It's annoying when the team sucks and/or is losing. For instance, the "Lo Viste" crap from last year was rage-inducing. some people enjoy life....I know it makes no sense...but what are you going to do?
RIPEXPOS Verified Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Give Stroman a catcher who can frame and he'll dominate.

Dont be one of those fans who say things like dont get emotionally attached. It doesn't work like that. When you cheer for a team, your emotions are at play I hate people who say things like its just a sport, if we werent emotionally attached we wouldn't be paying the big bucks to watch stupid ball players

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 At the time, it was necessary, because Stroman was in AA, and Hutch was recovering from Tommy John surgery, and Sanchez was still in A ball. Jays fans at the time didn't want to wait until 2014-2015 for those pitchers to come up. Casual fans don't have the patience. BTW, Nicolino and Syndergaard aren't close to the majors this season, as neither is expected to reach the majors until 2015(Syndergaard) or later, in Nicolino's case(he's in AA still) However, we should have kept Henderson Alvarez..although it's unknown how he'd do in the AL if he had stayed. FYI, Desclafani, who we also traded, did get to the majors, but with poor results. Otherwise, you're right that we should have kept the guys we traded.. Biggest problem was trading the prospects for old and expensive pitchers. Plus, I always felt they shouldn't have had to give up as much as they did in the Marlins trade because of the contracts they took on. The Dickey trade was just dumb. And yes, I understand that had they not tried to improve the team in the 2012 off season, they would've gone into 2013 expected to lose 95, maybe 100, games. However, this doesn't excuse them for making bad moves and overpaying. Anyway....

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 wild but hitting 96 mph again and again
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Haven't seen Cecil hit 96 in a while...
sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I seriously hate posters who act like they are high and mighty because another poster is more emotionally attached. Seriously your not better then anyone, sit down, shutup and watch the game
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Not McGowan... Santos! Bring him in Gibby.

Win something and then you can celebrate, but to each his own. And yes, I also laugh about it, I don't take it all that seriously, it's a mere annoyance. The team has several unlikable players, it is what it is.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Wow CHILLAX ! Lol I'm already chillaxed. It's all true anyway, nothing wrong with pointing it out.
sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I got a bad feeling about this. Loading the bases is not a good idea
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Can we please get some real grass in this junk stadium. Never mind real grass, let's get a real team in this stadium first.
