Gillespie should have never been on the team. I'm not sure if he was legitimately injured, or if it's roster gaming, but I don't care. Kratz has been good versus lefties, good behind the dish, and has been absolutely destroying Triple-A since his last demotion. .

sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Neither Navarro or Kratz have ever played 1B in mlb. Kratz played 1b in 2010 in the minors. Dissapointing. Need to get Jose of the field

Need to get Jose of the field Josh Thole has played 1B if Bautista playing 1B is a concern although frankly I don't know why it would be.
sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 You should have listened to Barker on baseball central yesterday. Playing Jose at first is exposing his body to a position he isn't used to. Already yesterday he kept trying to stretch his lower back in one at bat. He looked like he tweeked something. Its not just the matter of he can't play 1st. Secondly you don't move around your superstar. You put him where he is supposed to be and move the rest of the team around him. Wouldn't surprise me if he had already tweeked his lower back or he will do it eventually if he keeps playing first and doing those stretch plays

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 An outfielder we claimed from the Mariners to platoon. Yep. He basically became obsolete the next day when the Jays claimed Reimold but the EE dl stint allowed the Jays to add Reimold without dropping Gillespie. Now his own DL stint will prolong his presence on the roster but an eventual DFA seems inevitable. You don't build teams with rejected Seattle outfielders.

Governator Community Moderator Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I hope Kratz gets hot quick and when a decision needs to be made, Thole is demoted. He sits on the bench so much his ass cheeks are soon going to be permanently engraved in our bench.
