You fire Beeston and the other two will get fired by his replacement. Rogers would then hire some yes man that's never even heard of baseball.

I'd probably rather have that then Beeston who thinks he knows baseball.

I don't follow hockey so that went over my head.

I'm assuming he sucked though since it's the Leafs.

He more than micro-managed and was hands on. He let his political views and personal opinions ruin the team. He fought with players, coaches, management and the board.

last 30 days Jays 9-19, Rays 17-12 (17 and 8 in the last 25)...uh oh! Anyone remember last July?

Date the Rays pass the Jays??? I'll say August 24th.

Absolutely the Rays finish ahead of the Jays this year

Beeston is winning the poll by a large margin but can anyone with a considerable amount of certainty even say how much input he has in baseball ops?

He's the one who has to make the case to Rogers for payroll increases. So, he's definitely involved in some capacity.

Get rid of them all. Slash and burn.

Ok, let's say someone offers you money if you can pick who will have more wins at the end of the season ( Rays or Jays ). Do you seriously pick

the Rays ? No provisions just a straight up pick. Your scenario requires a lot of things to occur. Rays need to sweep the Jays at home ( anything less

won't do ).

Why would he do that? It's not like the Jays are Leafs bad. They're an average team. If Hurl were a gambling man, he'd need a price far better than even money on that proposition.

His comment was obviously intended to rile up the likes of, well, you.

Well by that measure he's a rousing success is he not?

Until he failed to explain how a leveraged $5M investment at this time could be a very shrewd move.

The "we're going to build a track team!!!!!!!" pitch only works in a few contexts.

Why would he need better then even money ? You need to follow the narrative better, he thinks the Rays will pass the Jays in August. Given that eventuality, Rays would actually be better then even money in his eyes. Unfortunately, I don't think wagers can be made with any security, so it's all just hypothetical anyways.

Unless I'm misreading the situation, I'm pretty sure his comment was tongue in cheek. I very much doubt he'd accept even money on that bet.

Well it sounds like they very well could add salary at the deadline.

What do you mean? Did he say that?

I think so. It might have been in my nightmares however.

And the Rays catching the Jays is no extreme long shot anymore, it's very plausible.

If Edwin's out for a month AND the Rays don't move either or Price or Zobrist, I still don't think it would be any higher than 40% or so.

Beeston. I believe (not necessarily firmly) that a lot of what ails the Blue Jays FO drips top-down from betwixt the crossed legs of this old coot.

Such a stupid thread.

Funny, isn't it? Team's doing well and certain posters flat out disappear. Team is in a funk and they reappear. I guess they can't find a forum where they can discuss their favourite team so they come here to troll.
