eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 That's probably the most underwhelming first career hit I've ever witnessed.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 First MLB hit for Glenn! Baby steps people.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Nah they were forcefully activated at some point. If you could spent the whole offseason on the 60 day, every team would put everyone on it. What? For the express purpose of having a stupid number of 40 man roster issues every spring?
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Kawasaki and Tolleson are both substantial upgrades on Goins. What?? You're kidding right? Goins is TWICE the defender that both those players are put together. So with these guys barely hitting over the Mendoza line, I'd love to hear your take on how they are both "substantial" upgrades? That's downright laughable and hilarious actually. Goins was a plus 2 WAR defensively and neither Kawasaki or Toollleson are anywhere near that. So Kawasaki and Tolleson are both plus two WAR offensively plus a substantial upgrade, which would mean what? Pitching and defense win games buddy, at least consistenly they do, one of the oldest taglines in the book. Goins is no stud by any means, but my last look sees that he was a minus .20 WAR at 2nd base offensively. So you're telling me that a pair of .200 hitters are substantial upgrades over a guy who is 100 times the defender either of those players are is a substantial upgrade? I think you must've meant the other way around......there's no other way, you had to. LOL
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Here: Damn you were fast, I was just starting to search for it.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Francisco has a like a 2% chance of not striking out here.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 What? For the express purpose of having a stupid number of 40 man roster issues every spring? Yes? Teams don't usually have more than a couple guys through the offseason who are out for an additional extended period anyway, since Tommy John is more prevalent in April/May. There's lots of roster manipulation going on after the season ends.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Wtf Glenn is still on the team? Good job on the hit but still.... wtf
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Does Goins give better head? Now there's a mature response. For one, I'll bet Goins saves a total of 5-10 overall pitches a game, assuming he starts and plays the whole game, over Kawasaki or Tolleson. Guaranteed.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Reyes just swinging at everything. He's completely lost.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Just 3 years and 66 million to go for Reyes!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 wtf??? A pitch to back stop just happens to bounce right back to catcher. Nothing has gone our way. Baseball gods.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Nothing has gone our way. Baseball gods. Buehrle has a 5.56 xFIP tonight and Kazmir a 1.93. This isn't bad luck.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Norris looks like the guy I saw eating garbage in my parking garage a few days ago.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 So AA's inability to improve the bench is hurting the team again, who could've seen this coming! The only one in the media that I remember writing about this was BNS at SN. I would think one of the other dunces who cover the team would write something about it, but nothing.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Lol Lind might be the worst defensive player iv seen.
BJsFans Verified Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Dammit Buehrle you were supposed to give us a shutout tonight. We needed that.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Lol Lind might be the worst defensive player iv seen. Give him a break he's not a Gold Glover but he's playing injured.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Lol Lind might be the worst defensive player iv seen. I just imagine Lind constantly muttering "f*** this s***" when he has to move more than 5 feet for a ball. He's a DH to the core.
North of 60 Verified Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Good to see the kid Glenn having the best game of his career.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Steve Tolleson career 83 wRC+ Kawasaki career 69 (?) wRC+ Goins career 45 wRC+ Also, TLDR Why don't you ever emphasize how much better the middle defence is with Goins at second base? He does so many things better defensively that do not show up in the stats. Is it that difficult to comprehend?
