These two wins can't be understated. Beating a good team heading into a west coast trip.... Very important.

absolutely. most didn't think they would win either. big Ws and hopefully they can get a little momentum going west.

Oh FFS get real. Tired of this negative bs. We won because we have a lot of offensive weapons and overcame some mistakes from our bench players. We won because even on their bad outings, our starters RARELY get shelled. We won because Reyes, Bautista, EE etc when they are on are as dynamic a bunch as anywhere, and if we replace our worst players at the deadline we will be a damn good team. We scored 7 despite throwing away several easy run scoring opportunities, but it is important to note that almost none of those players were supposed to see much playing time this year.

Look, it's a first place club that went 8-0 against Oakland, Detroit, and Milwaukie. The same teams making serious noise to make the playoffs ( although I do think Milwaukie is no sure thing ). Amazing really how often we win when we "play badly". I do wonder what the comments would be following other teams like the Yankees and their 200M+ payroll that can't seem to score more then 3 runs most games. Or the Rays that despite a recent winning streak will need to be real good to get to .500 at end of season ( they won't if the trades are coming ).

Wow. When will the crappy posts on here stop ??? This was beyond absurd weeks ago. We are likely 4.5 ahead of the Yankees, and 9.5 ahead of the Rays. There were MANY posters on here picking these teams to win the division. Is this a Jays message board, or some secret society of Jays haters ?

I see a team that tends to win more then they lose, that has several holes that are not hard to improve on, and no obvious opponent in the AL East that could run away with anything ( not going to happen, only the Jays have shown any capability to do so, and in June they failed to capitalize on that ). It will all be decided in September, except an odd team or two in the division could drop back at some point. Doubt it's the Jays dropping back ( let's say roughly 10% chance of that ). Yankees were the most dangerous team based on their financial clout, but every game they drop now makes them less dangerous later. They need at least one top drawer addition just to keep up.

Seriously now, I don't post much here anymore because the 'debbie downer' mentality here is depressing. You'd think we were 10 games out and about to tank our team by doing something silly ( like trading Bautista for Profar in 2013 ? ).

Have you seen the Brewers this year? They've dominated the NL Central, winning on every facet of the game. They lead the Cards by 6.5 games, as the Cards are struggling to score. That strong bullpen the Brewers have has really helped that team contend, especially with arms like Will Smith, K-Rod , Zach Duke with his new delivery, etc. The only thing they really need is a way to get Rule 5 Pick Wei-Chung Wang off the roster, as he makes if difficult for the Brewers to call up arms, which could be costly if the bullpen starts to wear down in August and September.

No, buddy, you need to kill your bs posting. I'M DEAD SERIOUS. Guys like you are killing this site. There is no justification for what you posted, and it needs to be heard. How can my post be "old", I haven't addressed this negative s*** for weeks, yet it's constant and never stops does it ?

you're barking up the wrong tree. saying they won ugly was not a negative comment and your making something out of nothing.

I'm not your buddy and I'm not going to argue with you. you can disagree without preaching at people. writing a several paragraph long reply to my saying they won ugly is juvenile at best.

I think your definition of ugly win is different than most. They scraped this win together with only the long ball. It saved them today and it saved the embarrassment of Gose, Mastro, and the odd decisions by Gibby, not to mention leaving 8 on base through the first 8 innings. They weren't getting it done, but they got it done.

Happ was decent once again looking at his fangraphs page, 4 K no walks in 7 IP, good for a 3.97 xFIP. Season xFIP down to 4.17.

one run shouldn't have counted, Rasmus had ball in glove which he didn't secure. Plus he did a tv jump

Great win but troubling lack of execution...missed tough chance catches.

The way it goes some days I guess....

I have no idea why they pitched to Edwin with who was behind him even if it loaded bases to BB him.

Still seems surreal we DFA ed this guy at one point.

I am guessing the slider was supposed to be way down but he f***ed up. Even still i would feel comfortable with the dough boy behind him. He has been one of our more consistent hitters however you don't try to beat superman

Agree on Navarro...but still...Navarro or Edwin...no contest. If he missed his 3-1 spot he missed it big time.

I need to vent on sac bunts again - I hate giving up outs - and part of the reason is they are not automatically executed and that happened twice today. Makes me crazy. That's a skill the 2 guys who muffed them need to have. Props to the execution by Brewers though as well on the outs.

In the first 6 innings i hate sac bunts..... When it comes to the 7,8,9th innings i think this is where you can be doing it. Mastro and Gose need this skill or they will not succeed because neither one of them are going to be all-stars with the bat. Very frustrating especially with Gose's that is a must get down.

It's even dumber late in games... When you have fewer outs left, giving one of them away is rather silly, especially when you have a plug like Mastro coming up behind him who stinks against RHP.

welcome back... it was only 3 days. your posts are still intact.

Yeah... be a little easy next time with the threats though. Some of your own posts in here could be considered "negative" too. I could understand if I was posting threads saying "DFA DICKEY!!!", but it's the GDT. This s*** has always happened in here.

FIRST PLACE... BITCHES!!! BEASTS OF THE EAST!!!

More like slightly better than the incredibly mediocre.

Thanks to Edwin....I am 1-0 making gameday threads :)

Much like this game, it wasn't pretty but managed to get the job done

And in the AL with a DH, it's rather dumn.

Agree. I hate it....I left the old Board in part because Sempai and others nauseating calls for bunts endlessly.

The "small ball" bs....what a joke...we saw the results today.

There are very few circumstances where it makes sense to give up an out for a unsure advancement of runner.

I SUMMON YOU TO THE POSITIVITY THREAD!!!

I'm positive of my analysis, lol. Jays have a great opportunity, they just need to get back to 10 games over .500.

I'll give you that, historically our west coast trips are abysmal. If we come out a game on top, I'd be ecstatic.

this year the opposition is tough out west. Jays need to show up game ready and play smart. it would be great to go into the break with a lead in the east.
