I say this all the time but homerun rates over small samples measn nothing. He's been amazing period.

Want want want

Who costs less - Shark or Price?

I want one or the other now that Shields is les slikely to be traded. Price is more $$ but has the better track record obviously.

Price obviously. We're dealing within the division.

Tampa is still going to be a competitive team, I don't think they will be eyeing for a firesale. So I think they'll demand as much as possible from us.

I'd do a Sanchez/Pompey/Nolin type deal. No way I do Sanchez and Norris in the same deal though. Pompey looks like he could become a nice player, but ya gotta give something to get something. I think we got all we'll get from Happ. He must be replaced if we intend to compete beyond this point.

It's funny, I was going to post about how the difference between Price and Shark isn't that great but then I looked up Price's numbers and promptly changed my mind. I think the best value trade wise might actually be Zobrist. Every team can use a pitcher which keeps the price too damn high. Not everyone needs a 2B though so maybe it's easier to work something out that way. After all, the bottom line should alway be finding the best way to get more wins not pursuing one kind of player single-mindedly.

AA is in a no win situation here. The Casual fan would gut the minors for a sniff of the playoffs while the diehard fan will hang him if he does that deal even if we make the playoffs. The Yankees have CC and possibly Pineda coming back in July. The O,s have Bundy looking good. We have Morrow!

Like Girardi Says, Injuries will decide who wins the AL East.

Is Dalton Pompey just a guy or is he a real prospect? Seems like just another org guy who is having a few good months in A ball.

Started to break out in 2013 at Lansing, IMO. I do want to see him at AA soon.

Need to see a lot more out of him. Another example of people getting over excited about a prospect. Even some people here claim he's "untouchable". He's in no way a shoe-in to be an impact player in the bigs. Fine to hopeful but there's a long way to go.

I think we all want to see how he does at AA, but it's not just fans here who are excited about him, people who follow prospects for a living think he's very underrated and legit.

We'll see what happens.

Anyone understand what the f*** is going on with Price? That walk rate that looked completely unsustainable last year is even lower this year. He's gone from a good pitcher with the reputation of a great one to possibly an actual bonafied great pitcher. I'd be lying if I said I saw this coming. I really expected big regression from him actually.

BB low

HR up

Maybe he's throwing more strikes than necessary, and maybe Aaron Sanchez is trying to do the opposite :)

It's amazing that if you look at his year to year stats that since 2009 he has lowered his walk rate every single season, and this season his SwStr% is way higher than in previous seasons, so even if he might benefit from the occasional well-framed strike, he's also getting a lot more swings and misses than before.

Homerun rates fluctuate. He had the same homerun rate in 2009 when his control wasn't nearly as good. It happens. He's rocking a strikeout rate and K/BB over 10. There's no way he should throw less strikes to lower his homerun rate when he's so absurdly effective otherwise.

Trade Sanchez while he still has good value. Another year of horrid walk rates and his value will plummet.

Pompey has basically the same floor as Gose (great defensive CF) and unlike Gose he has some room to grow and better plate discipline and Gose, it should be noted, is the number one CF on the 2015 depth chart. There's a reason why Hulet said what he said.

We're in presence of a great asset in the outfield, position in which the Jays lacks talent.

We drafted tons of catchers this year, now we're weak in the OF and Pompey is our last hope in the near future.

Great performance = overvalue.

f*** Hammel

Yeah let's empty the farm instead. I'd rather patch things up by trading some mid tier prospects than to unload the farm for 1.5 years of control and still likely never sniff the playoffs.

Not that I disagree with that except for the playoff comment! This team has a great chance to make the playoffs IMO.

This whole time I thought Hammel wouldn't be a good fit because him and Bautista clashed. But that was Darren O'Day.

Nonetheless, it would cost us team chemistry.

Remember this:

Oh god yes I do. Infuriated me. And I remember Bautista's clash with O'Day - in fact O'Day hit him in the last series and I was surprised no words were exchanged.

I also agree with trading Sanchez right now before he loses value.

I wonder who the best pitcher is that we could get for Sanchez. Hammel? I hope not.

You mean that injured left hander who won a cy young a couple years back?

Sanchez is fixable; trade him to the Cubs and the next year he will be top-10 prospect.

He still a high asset
