mike • BlueJay fans are scared after not signing 1st round pick 2 of the last 3 years. Should their two picks be reasonable signs? It's reasonable to expect they save some $ to get some of the high end picks they made after the 10th round also isn't it?

Both times they failed to sign a first-rounder it was a prep RHP, guys with leverage, and this year, maybe that's Sean Reid-Foley, who likely expected to go higher than he did. Also, the Latz article said that he turned the "$1M" down on Friday night, which was actually before we drafted him. That means that he probably got a call from someone and told them he wouldn't sign for that much, and it doesn't necessarily mean that the Jays were the team making that offer, or that they even would offer him that much, or that they ever even had 1M to offer him in the first place. Still wouldn't take anything from that, just another thing to keep in mind. That probably explains why his LSU coach still isn't 100% convinced that Latz and Papi will make it to campus, but is "hoping" they make the right (wrong) choice.

I found that thread when I was googling the names of the UFA's we signed, so I was looking through it today and I noticed that he had posted that Latz article I found. Thought it was weird since it was such a small-time news site, but when I saw it was posted 30 minutes before my own post, I thought it was just a coincidence.

 

...Then I realized that their default board time zone is not EST. When I signed up for an account and switched it to EST, I realized that it was posted there half an hour after it got posted here. Scrolled through and found everything we've been posting (tweets, articles, etc) gets re-posted 20-30 minutes later, mostly by the same guy.

Only a moron could "completely" waste their time on a piece like that, because anyone with half a wit would know whether or not it's something that entertains them after the first paragraph. So you either read the whole thing, at which point the only person to blame for that "wasted time" is you, and I'd wonder why exactly you kept reading, or you're implying that your life is busy and occupied enough that even reading that first, small satirical blurb about Brady Aiken was enough to "waste your time". Which, let's face it, is just not true, because if it was, you wouldn't actually have the time to voice your displeasure about it on a forum.
