ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 We already have a precedent of AA trading with Alderson for a player having a career year....NO THANKS!!!
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Just curious.....is Sanchez, Nolin, and another prospect enough to get Altuve?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Just curious.....is Sanchez, Nolin, and another prospect enough to get Altuve? Maybe if it's Norris haha No way the Astros are even entertaining offers on him. If they were though....
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Sanchez + Nolin + Norris for 107 mean RoS wRC+, .365 BABIP Altuve?
Convo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Maybe if it's Norris haha No way the Astros are even entertaining offers on him. If they were though.... Seriously.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Sanchez + Nolin + Norris for 107 mean RoS wRC+, .365 BABIP Altuve? Ya thats exactly what I'm saying. I'd love to give up all those pieces for Altuve. Sometimes you really need to cool it with your smart ass remarks. He'd be a great player to have on essentially any team. Obviously not worth it, as the "other prospect" I suggested was Norris, which makes no sense.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Seriously. Have you had your coffee yet??

I was going along with your suggestion that it would cost Sanchez + Norris, and agreeing that it wouldn't make sense. And I'm being a smartass? By agreeing with you? Okay then, lol

The Astros are not even going to trade Altuve, you have to be of sub-par intelligence to even be discussing this.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 As good a player as Altuve is, he'd be a nice sell high right about now
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 They'd have to be blown away by a deal for Altuve. Even if he is playing at his peak, he's under contract until after the 2019 season, with a per season max of $6.5 mil. Team him up with Correia and Springer, and they are set up the middle until the next decade.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Since very few like me do NOT want to gut our minor league system anymore then the alternative is a salary dump . Weeks is one but his defense sucks and cost is huge . Headley has a back injury and is hitting 178 since coming off the DL. Prado is the other one. Hits lefties well, plays good defense, good in the clubhouse, plays 2nd and 3rd, but comes with a huge salary. Cost in prospects would depend on how much the Snakes are willing to eat of that 11 mil for 2 and 1/2 more years. Now if Rogers were looking long term they would eat more of the cost and keep the prospects . If the Snakes ate 2 mil a year a PTBNL should get him.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 AA kind of deal JeffPassan "Astros want Nats' top prospect Lucas Giolito in deal for Lucas Harrell. The response: "Rizzo did not respond immediately."

Not too concerned what you think of my intelligence level. Someone asked what it would take, listing Sanchez and Nolin + another prospect. I said it would probably take Norris as well. Obvious overpay.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Now that we know what Lunhow's negotiation tactics look like, it'll probably take Norris + Sanchez + Osuna just to get in the conversation.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I don't even care, the dude hits like a motherf***er. You'll care when he can't make routine plays everyday. You'll care even more with all the DPs he is unable to turn. There are other options out there and the last thing the Jays need is another all bat player with s***** D.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 a win is a win is a win is a win is a win is a win is a win is a win is a win is a win

Itd take sonething like Barreto + Pompey + Norris/Sanchez/Stroman and probably another MLB piece (maybe Happ or Nolin).

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I meant Stroman, how did I put Osuna? lol Osuna has way more value to us than on the market. Wait for him to rehab, he's gonna be sick.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 For those of you who keep saying Headly http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fancy-stats/wp/2014/06/23/padres-third-baseman-chase-headley-isnt-worth-trading-for/ I find it hard to believe that he's "severely declining" while only being 30 years old.
Convo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I find it hard to believe that he's "severely declining" while only being 30 years old. Article is pretty pointless if he's been playing injured (as Moogy pointed out), not sure if this was only announced recently and that's why it's not mentioned in the article, otherwise author is a moron.

I agree the conclusion that he is declining badly is probably wrong and it is because of injury BUT. That stats used aren,t. As Moogy points out the back injury has hugely affected his performance and he isn't worth trading for.
