Just lock this in an hour if you want.

WTF REYES

DICKEY WHY CAN'T YOU HOLD ON TO A LEAD, WHY DO WE HAVE THIS FLUKY ASS PITCHER.

It's baseball bud.

Our team is the Jays, not everything can be perfect for the center of the baseball universe.

I get the hatred towards Reyes... the 27th out is the bitch of the night but the TSN turning point was Cabrera getting picked off and our insurance run removed.

No. Cabrera getting picked off changed the entire space time continuum.

I dreamnt last night that we still had Arencibia on this team. When I woke up I was steaming with rage but realized that it was all a dream. And that was better than last night's game.

I dreamed last night that Reyes slid into 3rd and severed his entire left foot.

Say what you want about Reyes last night. He will play short again tonight and for that we can be grateful.

Again, its not about the loss; ITS HOW WE LOST.

And I can guarantee if you watched 100+ games of any other team this year they'd experience similar losses.

It's a baseball forum and this thread is the "Rage/Vent Thread". If people are pissed, who cares? Let them vent! I was absolutely disgusted last night. I'm over it now but I totally get these reactionary posts. Stuff happens but that was a disgusting way to lose a game.

And it's not "only one game". Games like these add up. This team needs a serious amount of luck in order to scrape into the playoff picture and we cannot lose games like this. That is a play a little leaguer should make against a slow-running catcher.

We've got Spanky in here telling guys to DIAF because they're passionate about their team? That's worse than the actual complaining.

And when the Rays couldn't field a bunt properly and threw it away? That was f***ing awesome, because it was good for the Jays. And for the Rays? They lost that game like we lost last night.

Sure, be passionate but have some f***ing perspective.

It's one thing to be disappointed by the loss, but this team just won 9 in a row and even with the loss they have gone 19-6 in their last 25 games. How can any rational person get so worked up give how well this team has been playing? In a sport where elite teams only win at a .600 clip, this team is playing .760 ball in their past 25 games which INCLUDES the apparently franchise crippling loss that just occurred.

Seriously, this thread is f***ing stupid and any rational fan should be ashamed to be trashing their so called favourite team because they lost 1 f***ing game while in the midst of one of the best runs this franchise has seen in years. Bunch of f***ing clowns.

That's absolutely true. All teams make key errors and blow leads. Some more than others and so far 1st place in AL East says we are doing ok on that score on a comparable basis.

Considering the impact Reyes has had to the positive contributing to this run we are on with his speed etc we can live with yesterday. His D has been a concern but the NYY have put up with Jeter all this years who hasn't had any range for a lifetime, and they still do ok.

It doesn't matter who committed the error. It was a close game and it sucks, but this happens to everything team.

If you are an 83 win team trying to somehow eak out 88 wins and a playoff spot then you need to have one of those years when everything goes right. When things go wrong it hurts more.

Every team experiences these kind of losses. Most teams aren't an 80 something win team in win now mode build around 30+ year olds.

So for a normal team it is no big deal... go get 'em tomorrow, or next year when the young players are a bit better. There is no next year for this team.. I don't think.

Bautista, Buerhle, Dickey, EE, Reyes better next year?? Probably not as you have pointed out.

Stop with the rational responses in a rage/vent thread - you guys are making this a comic relief thread now -.-

On another note, time to start another streak.

Edit: Win, that is.

I think if it was called the "irrational venting with a lack of perspective" thread its more aptly named. I totally get that. I yelled "f***!!" right along with Casey last night when that ball bounced away from EE.

You could say, in one play Jose Reyes negated his 0.8 WAR so far this season. Congratulations to AA for changing things up and paying $16 mil this year and $22 mil next year for a 3-5 WAR SS instead of keeping a 3-5 WAR SS for $7 mil, well played AA, well played.

-appreciating the irony of posters raging and venting at other posters for raging and venting in the raging and venting thread-

I remember these conversations back in the 90s when that bitch Alanis made that ironic song. Everybody argued about what irony was. It's like the f***ing opposite or something.

"posters raging and venting at other posters for raging and venting in the raging and venting thread" -- possibly not ironic it is the raging and venting thread after all.

"posters raging and venting at other posters for raging and venting in the calm thread" -It's very subtle. In the calm thread you expect everyone to be calm so all the raging and venting would be ironic.

In the rage thread everybody is supposed to be raging, so posters raging and venting for any reason, including raging and venting at other posters for raging and venting... well that is as it should be and is expected to be... the opposite of irony.

Speaking of Alanis, f*** you Reyes, you deserve the Alanis bitch rage song...

Well, I'm here to remind you

Of the mess you left when you threw the ball away

It's not fair to deny us

the 10th straight win we deserved to see

You, you, you oughta know

See, now THIS is why I pray to you man. Sage perspective, fuelled by nicotine and overclocked CPU's.

-says a quick prayer-

My understanding of irony is basically, the occurence of something unexpected in a given situation. Even though I was a wee shitstain teen when that crappy song was making the rounds, I still remember the debate; people assumed irony had to be the "opposite" of what one would expect in any given situation, instead of it just being something unexpected.

TL;DR Olerud is a Lord amongst men. May his overclocked CPU always remain optimally vented and cooled, forever and ever, amen.

Yes I'm over it. Good to see him take responsibility.

I think that's good for Reyes/team...but we'll see how 'clean' the jays play baseball moving forward - it's the mental errors that are the worst b/c they are correctable - and last night's throw was a mental error, but one I don't see happening again from Reyes this season in a crucial situation - baserunning/getting picked off are mostly mental errors...hitting the cut off man...advancing (or not advancing) on a pop fly...etc etc...playoff teams and those that make deep runs 'do the little things'...

so far, this team often does the 'little things' but still too many mental errors...

one aspect of this thread that's really great is the bar is higher & as fans, albeit more hardcore than the typical fan, we're not satisfied with 9 games above .500 or whatever...we expect more & so we should...and this team should expect more and assume they do...

9 games above .500 puts them at 91 wins. Expecting much more than that is setting yourself up for disappointment. Realistic expectations easily get lost when a team goes on an winning tear that's simply unsustainable.

Nope. And you're too old to be a crackhead.

Luckily, you're not too old to be a broke virgin with a toddler-penis.

-ba dum TISH-

Edit: seriously, there's something you can do about it; either penis pumps you can use therapeutically in the shower, and/or a jelqing regimen. s*** works, in the past few months I gained like half an inch, I'm pushing 8" now. Sure beats stalking random people on the internet and lashing out at them because you feel inferior to them in a certain aspect, no?

Wouldn't you expect more then that? I mean if the pay .500 from here on out.... isn't that a 90 win team? But shouldn't we expect them to be above .500 from here on out?

See you're only expecting higher than 91 wins now because of a hot streak. Every season has highs & lows, we haven't hit the lows yet. Maybe it's the years of mediocrity talking here but yes overall a realistic winning % is closer to .500 than .750 over the next 4 month period. I'd rather be set up for a surprise than a let down at this stage.

I think we already had some lows with the blown leads we had by the pen and getting mashed in a double header, big losses to the Os and losing series there to Bosox. I think at one point that drove us 4 or 5 games under. I hope we don't go much lower than that period for long during rest of season.
