NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Reyes is a glorified average regular.
Slot Machine Verified Member Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Why is Brett Lawrie not better at avoiding getting hit by pitches on the hands?!?!?!?! What the f***. You're one of the most athletic players in baseball with incredible reflexes in the field. Learn to turn away and protect your goddamn hands! Stop getting hurt!! His problem is that he tries to swing at garbage high and inside.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 He's pretty overrated. 105 wRC+ since his first game as a Blue Jay (695 PAs). Defense hasn't been great. It's nothing special and he's getting paid like a stud. He's just a guy. Everyone expecting batting champ Jose Reyes or 78 steals Jose Reyes will continue to be sorely disappointed. He's an average hitter with an average overall defensive profile.
