flafson Verified Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I get the hatred towards Reyes... the 27th out is the bitch of the night but the TSN turning point was Cabrera getting picked off and our insurance run removed. I was thinking the same thing but it's very possible that EE with runners on 1st and 2nd would change his approach and wouldn't get a home run.

A meatball looks like a beachball right now to EE.. he wouldn't be poking that to right field.

aselvana Verified Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Won't they complete the First Class trilogy first? basing how marvel spaced out avengers with ironman 3, we could see a stand-alone movies like wolverine 3 before the end of the FC trilogy. Spoilerwith striker out of the picture,a non-metal wolverine seems boring !!!SPOILER!!
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 WHY CANT WE GO 162-0. i WANT AN INSPIRATIONAL MOVIE BASED ON THIS TEAM IN THE FUTURE!!
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 WHY CANT WE GO 162-0. i WANT AN INSPIRATIONAL MOVIE BASED ON THIS TEAM IN THE FUTURE!! Again, its not about the loss; ITS HOW WE LOST.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Again, its not about the loss; ITS HOW WE LOST. Teams lose like this all the time, as long as it''s not a routine thing im okay with. We won 2 nights with a walk off bunt from a runner on 1st base, it evens out
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Just lock this in an hour if you want. WTF REYES DICKEY WHY CAN'T YOU HOLD ON TO A LEAD, WHY DO WE HAVE THIS FLUKY ASS PITCHER. SMASHED MY f***ING COMPUTER!!!!! Salvaged 2/4 GPUs, but will cost 10 grand to replace the other 2 + CPU. f***ERS. Farrell is coming for you f***ers. Beeston is a **********. If we don't win this year, which we won't, Beeston will say we'll win next year, which we won't, and we won't win the year after that either. Toronto Blue Jays 2014 season turning point -- May 29th, Reyes throws it in the dirt. The downfall begins. Season realistically over - May 29th -- it will take a few weeks for people to realize this. But it's done. See you next year, or the year after that.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Settle the f*** down!! If the team was really a 95 true talent team I'd agree with you. I think most of us see it as a 80-85 win team. With good fundamentals and luck they could squeak into the playoffs in a weak division. So when fundamentals and luck both disapear at the same time it's a downer. A loss like this is nothing for a 95 win team. For an 82 win team that needs everything to go right?? Losses like this suck more. Also it brings us back to reality. The 2014 Jays are probably just going to drift about .500... at times just by random chance it will look like we are headed to the playoffs... at times just by random chance it will look like we are headed for a top 5 draft pick. Most likely outcome is we pick 16 next year. Sucks to have to come back to reality.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Rinse and Repeat.......douchebag. The last two real high pionts 27-13 in 2009, and after the 11 game win streak last year the Jays completely imploded in the span of 10 days. People are just afraid that will happen again. June 10th we'll be tied with the sox 2 behind the Yankees with the Rays somehow back in it... July 10th we'll be talking about selling Bautista, Buehrle, and EE. It sucks. But it happens. One moment on top of the world, the next selling Halladay. People are insecure about this team. As always I hope it turns out good.
Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Moi is glad I went to beddy-byes.around 9:30 when we were up 6-5, I am afraid that my Calm would have suffered a hit had I been witness to Brother Reyes' s***ing of the pants. I shall say an extra prayer to Olerud for you all, to pray that you rediscover Calm.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Maybe we should consult with the Rays' fanboys what they think about Oviedo. Without his screw up they might still be playing that game with no guarantees that the Blue Jays hit 9 games to blow it on #10. Incredible that just one day after there's so much rage and the luck from the night before is extinguished. Olerud talks about luck just above and how this team can't afford bad breaks. Well the way I see it the last two games perfectly offset each other and karma is in harmony.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It's a baseball forum and this thread is the "Rage/Vent Thread". If people are pissed, who cares? Let them vent! I was absolutely disgusted last night. I'm over it now but I totally get these reactionary posts. Stuff happens but that was a disgusting way to lose a game. And it's not "only one game". Games like these add up. This team needs a serious amount of luck in order to scrape into the playoff picture and we cannot lose games like this. That is a play a little leaguer should make against a slow-running catcher. We've got Spanky in here telling guys to DIAF because they're passionate about their team? That's worse than the actual complaining.
shortstop Verified Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 jays have been giving away outs all-season - pick-offs, trying to get an extra base & getting thrown out... watched the replay again - definitely blame JR but EE makes that catch in the dirt 99 times out 100...just a weird combination of things let's hope good Happ comes out tonight...
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Look at how Rays lost to us the night before. We had a little payback on us last night. Ya, it really sucks a guy making 16mm a year cant make a routine throw to close a game, but it happens in ball. But we won 9 in a row...take the positives and win today.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 I feel a little better today
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I feel a little better today I dreamnt last night that we still had Arencibia on this team. When I woke up I was steaming with rage but realized that it was all a dream. And that was better than last night's game.

Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 The Jays squeaked out a few runs and wins through ball-luck / unexpected defensive plays during the winning streak, so I'm OK if the ball-luck ran out yesterday. Like others have said, if the Jays bounce back tonight, all will be forgotten. Ya'll need to calm down.

"There's no excuse," Reyes said. "I should make a better throw there. That's a routine ground ball, I got it perfect. I just didn't have enough on the throw." So we all good now?

You could see by EE's reaction that he really thought he should have been able to bail out Reyes. Bad losses happen, this one was just compounded by having it both end end a winning streak and put to waste a career highlight play by Bautista.
