Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 8-man bullpen 6-man rotation Fracisco 3B - Lawrie 2B Joke team
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Discuss What the f***? Is this necessary? It's not like he is a key cog in the lineup.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Where's this coming from? Buck and Tabby on the TV
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 It's just so frustrating to watch. The roster was slapped together apparently with no attempt at all to form a cohesive 13-man group with complementary skills. It's hard to root for a team that was assembled this poorly and haphazardly. Yet with some really good pieces in there It's just incomplete
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Stars and scrubs vs good regulars with versatile bench....
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I really wouldn't mind Lawrie getting good at 2B and signing/trading for Headley.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Headley would be a very nice target. Guy will be undervalued because Petco, but would rake in the RC. A 4/60 contract in the offseason would be nice if Lawrie could play 2B *Assuming we're not rebuilding. Even if we're rebuilding, why the hell not, right? You don't tank in baseball unless you're going to be really, REALLY bad. We're not going to be bad enough to contend for the first overall pick; Rogers just wouldn't let that happen. It could stunt our attendance irreparably. So if we're not gonna be #1 then we need to just hit on mid first rounder after mid first rounder. We could afford to have Headley tearing it up at RC and maybe he posts another 7 win season we can pawn him off for something significant. What do you think he costs in a trade? We've been scouting him for years.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Anyone wanna bet that this only lasts 1 game before they change their mind and move Lawrie back to 3B? This roster is a mess. Why the f*** is Sierra still here?
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Looks like the Francisco experiment at 3B worked out great.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 So I guess they've given up on focusing on defense...lol. What an absolute joke.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Lol im pretty confident that Gibbons has changed his mind already after seeing that last hit that got by Francisco
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Defense isn't actually a thing. You didn't get the memo? Apparently winning isn't a thing either.
8D Verified Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 f*** it. Why not? Not like the Jays are gonna get anywhere this season. Most likely this experiment will go on for maybe two or three games and then back to normal. Lawrie is a very good athlete and should be more than able to handle that position. If the Jays really want him there, they got to make him stick there. Put him out there and let him get as many reps as possible at 2B if you're serious about switching Lawrie over. But I remember Jfas saying Lawrie would be just as valuable at 2B than he would be at 3B after positional adjustment. Not sure how that works, tbh. But it's worth noting. But obviously, hopefully the Jays get lighting in a bottle w/ Francisco sticking in the majors and Lawrie at 2B.
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 This whole season is going to get really strange.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Apparently winning isn't a thing either. So far, this season is playing out exactly as we expected. Offensive black holes in Sierra and Goins, terrible pitching, a garbage bench, and just terrible roster management so far that has led to us losing a lot of games we should have won.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Meh.......so does Sierra get DFA's and call up Mastro? Maybe we need to find a sick kid to petition the " make a wish foundation" to make it happen! AA saves face and Rogers uses it for PR and has a make a wish night donating a portion of all tickets sold!
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Who is the man in charge of firing Beeston and AA?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Rather move Bautista to third before Francisco if your moving Lawrie to 2nd. Then dfa Sierra and call up mastro and Gose to play the field ! Not sure what happens to Lind or Francisco in this or if you can even keep one or which ? Cabrera would become dh?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 No amount of shuffling is going to change the fact that the lineup is one player short. Shuffling your established players out of position just so you can try a different unestablished player with a limited skill set will probably just compound the problem. Who would have imagined when Kelly Johnson left that two seasons later he would still be missed.

Only reason I suggested it is because Francisco scares the fack out of me at third with fat ass behind the plate! Bunts for days! Think a out field of Gose rasmus mastro would hold their own!
SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Nice range by Francisco. Lawrie gets to that ball with ease and we might still be playing. Siearra is so useless, shockingly bad!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 why not just turn Lawrie back into a catcher. not like he could be worse than what we have now. lol only joking, so dont hate.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Who is the man in charge of firing Beeston and AA? Some bean pusher!
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Francisco and his Swiss Cheese defense at 3B, Diaz whiffing on his bunt attempts, or Getz and his .300 SLG...does it really matter?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 This team is a disaster, we all saw it coming, and I am not going to commit my summer to stressing about this team. Every damn summer when the Jays crap the bed I get stressed. Not this year. I've learned to just sigh and shake my head, and then move on and not let the team ruin my day. I won't get my hopes up until AA and Beeston are fired/dead
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Yeah, I don't give a f*** and it feels fabulous. No way I'm actively cheering for a team run by complete morons to this degree. Very little separates this FO with Amaro's, Wade's (former) or Bavasi's (former). All idiots, none deserving of their jobs. This team can't f***ing draft, develop, properly assess talent/results. The only thing AA seems to do well are contract extensions.
