Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Izturis to DL, Kratz to Buffalo, Kawasaki and Happ to join Jays Turesday on Minn.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Rasmus left game with tight hamstring, Gibbons says not considered serious.

JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 lol @ a middle infield of Diaz, Goins, and Kawasaki. At least only two of them have to play at a time and only until Reyes finishes his rehab stint. If Lawrie gets hurt we are royally f***ed though.
Slot Machine Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I'd rather Kratz be in Buffalo than rotting on the bench. Too bad with this organization those were the only options.
Flamingweazel Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Izturis tripped on Dugout stairs? What a crap injury.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 #FreeKratz Pretty bad management though. Confident that AA has no idea what Kratz is worth.
Flamingweazel Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Yeah Kratz should have been given more at bats.
Caper Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 lol @ a middle infield of Diaz, Goins, and Kawasaki. That's less if an lol of Izzy, Goins and Diaz.
Brenner Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 bah just as Izzy was becoming slightly better than useless.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Happ adds nothing to the 25 man, aside from a long man who might be a bit better than Rogers. Gose could have had an impact with Rasmus' slightly tweaked hamstring. It's still egregious roster mismanagement to not have a backup CF on the big league roster. Bautista and Melky getting reps there is crazy. Two injury prone, older COF... but let's just throw them in centre. Ok.

I definitely don't get the move of Happ, you have a position player hurt, and send a position player down, and you bring up a pen arm that has no talent and should only ever be used in blowouts....
flafson Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 At least we will have Happ in the pen. Maybe he wouldn't be so useless. You never know, he might improve too!

I think the thought was probably, Reyes will be back in a few days along with Janssen, so at that time they'll probably let two RP go anyway, bringing the team back in balance. So it's a few days with an extra RP, with Morrow and McGowan starting two of the next three, maybe that arm comes in handy. This is how the Blue Jays braintrust thinks. When the time comes I bet we'll see Wagner optioned back to Buffalo and one of Redmond/Rogers DFA'd. I doubt they DFA Happ but man it would be nice if some other team wanted to take him and his salary on. Maybe Tampa Bay.... lol. And on the CF thing, Kevin Pillar is playing like garbage in Buffalo and I think Gose is still firmly planted in the "developing" camp. I dunno. It's all so weird. Always so weird and convoluted.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 but Happ is tall and strong!!! 6'6 220 with big strong arms as Tabby would say
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Will Happ be in the pen tho? We can only assume, but I wouldn't really be surprised if AA put Happ in rotation and Dusty in the pen. Wouldn't surprise me at all... I dread Happy in anything but mopup He becomes swing man I guess, though I prefer Redmond. Rogers should just go away
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Rogers, Redmond and Happ, 3 long reliever guys, in the same bullpen.....This FO is a real joke.
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 You can rehab for 30 days. Surprised they didn't do that.
