I guess you did not technically tell him he couldn't swear. But you did compare him to Andrew Stoeten. That was mean. I guess it was a joke. But maybe he didn't get it was a joke and now he thinks he is operating at the same level as Andrew Stoeten??

Convo needs to back off and enjoy what this is. Who is Andrew Stoeton? Who cares? Who is Convo? Who is Mac Outlaw? Who is Olerud363?

Point is, we gotta get while the getting is good. If I was in the area I'd be in the Td zone watching all these Cardinal games followed by drinks wherever it is I go to afterwards, in that Irish basement pub by the Dome. Let's take two of three from these mofos and ride the wave. The AL East is there for the taking, when's the last time it's been so vulnerable?

High school? That was about twenty years ago for me. Would not at all go back. Couldn't wait to leave, university too.

Who is Andrew Stoeton?

He is a guy, who has a blog. Some think he is a sell out. When times are bad he write long articles trying to understand why AA does what he does, and then at the end he tells his readers not to be so negative because "baseball is hard". At this moment in time it looks like he was kind of right and all the insufferable sour pusses were wrong. What can I say... baseball is hard.

Who is Convo? Who is Mac Outlaw? Who is Olerud363?

Convo?? I do not know. Mac Outlaw? Some guy who swears and asks questions. Olerud363? Some loser with a fast computer who posts foolishness on this message board.

Why would you go back?? You will be like 40 and they are 17. It would be odd and you might get arrested.

That's god damn right. Let's TCB and handle these Cardinals in our home park. Then all three of us can go to a strip club and celebrate the series win.

Good intentions but why do I get the feeling we'd be most mismatched threesome in the joint.

You two have at it. Couldn't even join the boys at hooters the other day. Wife says she wouldn't mind. But you know how it is. Gotta behave.

Had my time in the 90s. Saw the boys win a series or two along the way. I'd like to see the Jays win for the younger generation who didn't get the chance yet. Sounds like Outlaw was old enough for 92/93... not sure about Convo.

92/93 were the glory days for me, 90-91 was when I was just getting into baseball.

I'm calmly enjoying watching the Jays gradually march to the division title like it's 1985.

Update, it was noted that as of yesterday it was our biggest division lead since ... 1985 !!! We won 99 games that year and should have gone to

the World Series but they insisted on pitching to George Brett.

Calm down.

0 runs over the weekend?? That makes me... uncalm. Is this the end??

General pattern the last 20 years has been that these occassional false peaks occur followed by a quick and complete crash to reality (see May 2009, June 2000 for fine examples).

What we have seen thus far is nothing out of the ordinary 20 year pattern. In fact it fits the 20 year pattern and is a necessary part of it.

Without these false peeks then some years would be so horrible that they would end the cycle (Beeston "retired", AA fired, Rogers exec reads Bill James etc.).

Keep calm if the crash occurs. This could be it. Deal with it like a man. The road to 82 wins is full of fools gold

Stay calm my friends through good times and bad.

I'd like to stay calm, but I am now a true believer. I'm all in.

I'll tip my cap to the St. Louis starters the last two games, well done...but Minnesota is about to experience a s*** storm. The bats are about to go off, I fully expect a sweep in spectacular fashion to get back on track towards 91 wins.

Minnesota is about to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hoping for a good series as well. Oh and even with the two losses the Jays are still on track for 96 wins.

One big difference right now is the division really is s***. There's no powerhouse team or teams that are just going to storm past the Jays, leaving them in the dust.

Like this:

The Jays have never been in this position in the last 20 years...leading the AL East by 5.5 games, and with the other teams so thoroughly mediocre. They really can do this.

Minnesota and Baltimore have bad pitching. If there's a time to forget last series and get the bats going again, it's now.

Past season performances are pretty irrelevant, this is a new team with it's own strengths and weaknesses. It's extremely ambitious of you to predict an 82 win season, in fact start betting against them every game now you could make a mint IF you are right. 38-26, so you are thinking they finish 44-54 ?

Last year, the three teams that were supposed to be good but sucked wind for half a season plus were Toronto, LA Angels, and LA Dodgers. They were all expensive mediocre teams. Dodgers decided to turn it around last year and dominated the second half. The other two have waited until this year to win. Could it be that talent wins ball games eventually ? Could it be that bringing in numerous vet players takes time to build team chemistry ? Could it be that past stars like Bautista, Pujols don't drop off the map at a certain age ? Could it be that young turks like Headley, Machado, Profar, even our good friend Lawrie are not guaranteed stars ?

So many questions suggest the unpredictability of baseball. But wait, you think 20 years of "futility" is useful to predict this season ?

Great optimism. Helps to have varied views on the calm thread.

I myself am in full panic mode. You can tell my mood by the questions I start asking....

Can Brett Lawrie 2014 beat JPAs 2013 OPS?

Can Hutch come back from double TJ?

If Buerhle keeps his ERA under 3.00 will Dickey have to have a 6+ era to compensate?

Will Beeston be the Bud Selig of team Presidents and still be on the job when he hits 80??

Will new technology like 3D printing of organs keep Bud and Beeston around and on the job indefinately?

CPH. In this one case you are being logical and I am not.

If I truly believe their true talent level is 82-80, then the rest of the way the team should go .500 or so. What are they 38-26?? So 98 games left?? They will go 50-48. Meaning they win 88.

So that is my new calm logical prediction. 88 wins.

I think they'll do better then 88 wins, but I could see that occurring. Specifically, if the Yankees hang close and kick our butts head to head, picking up some guys at the deadline. A wild card fight behind the Yankees would be a failed opportunity in my opinion. What the Jays have earned so far is a nice head start, an offence that is for real, and a good reason to add pitching depth at the deadline ( we have offensive depth now ). Add pitching and the 96 win pace we are on is highly sustainable, even just one guy covers a lot of risk.

Let's sweep the Twins! You know how you get to 95 wins?? By winning baby!! Let's sweep these mofos out of town!!

It's 1993 revisited!! You can't stop this team!!

Bring on the White Sox,

Bring on the BoSox,

Bring on the Angels, the Rangers, and the Yankees too.

We'll beat the Indians,

We'll beat the Tigers,

We'll beat the A's so bad it'll make, Billy Blue.

What do you want?

Let's play ball.

If this song makes you too excited sing the calm part.

It's a beautiful evening, fans.

At the ballpark, when the game starts.

Warm summer breezes, sun's going down.

It's all dark at the ballpark.

That's OK, it's a nightgame.

Jays need to be calm against Ubaldo tomorrow, he will walk his way into a loss if they are patient

If the Jays couldn't beat Correia, they won't beat Ubaldo.

If they panic and decide to fire Sietzer hopefully they hire Maahfaace and not Cito or Murph.
