The Orioles have an agreement in place with South Korean pitcher Suk-min Yoon, pending physical, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. Yoon is said to be "in good shape to pass" the physical, but the club is remaining quiet about the deal until he does, given its heavily-scrutinized decisions to shelve deals with Grant Balfour and Tyler Colvin due to issues with their physicals.

And the market gets a little smaller for Ubaldo and Ervin. If we play our cards right we might get one of them on a hell of a deal. Or we might get none at all. ha.

Oh the irony... This is probably the last team he should have signed with but, then again, there probably wasn't nearly as much interest in this guy as was reported.

I really think Seattle is going to get 1 of them as they don't seem to care about the comp 2nd rounder they will be giving up. I also think that team has a severe need to add to there rotation with just Felix and Iwakuma as proven guys.

Unlikely. Seattle already is still trying to get Nelson Cruz, plus Iwakuma is expected back in late April. And they have Walker, Paxton, Ramirez, Maurer and Beavan in their system. I can't see them spending anymore on pitching, when they need another bat in that lineup to be a contender.

I can't imagine we came away very impressed to not even offer him 2 mil/yr. I'll be surprised if he even makes 25 starts for them.

Me too. I wonder if they signed him just to save some face and look like they salvaged something from an off-season that's been a P.R. disaster for them. They probably already know that none of the reamaining pitchers will sign with them.

Can anyone explain what happened to Tyler Colvin? Seems like he had some good years in 2012 and 2010

This makes me very very happy. I was not impressed when I heard that the Jays were sniffing around him. This should almost guarantee us one of Ubaldo or Ervin, or maybe both but I won't hold my breath on that one.

If the Jays don't end up with Jimenez now, I'd be very surprised.

It would be inexcusable not to. His asking price and market have both shrunk. Just get it the f*** done AA.

I don't really see how it makes the market smaller. Yoon is a #5 at best and a bullpen guy at worst (well, really he's an injured non-factor at worst, but you get the idea). And if their budget is tight enough that signing Yoon is enough to basically finish their FA spending, they likely didn't have the money to throw at a bigger pitcher to begin with. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them try to make a play for Santana/Jimenez still.

The amount of people here who think that we're a "lock" to land Jimenez and/or Santana is comical... Maybe I'm just cynical... Or maybe it's just the fact that I've put up with this teams BS for 23+ years. I'm in the camp that would be shocked if they did sign anyone. Like I've repeatedly said, I hope I eat crow on this one because watching meaningful baseball beyond May 15th would be nice for a change.

I will laugh like hell if this falls apart on the physical too.

I'm pretty sure Angelos will be standing by with checklist in hand to see if he meets the requirements.

Pretty much.. let's just Angelos would rather save on his team's payroll by blocking any deal if he sees even a stubbed toe or something.. no wonder Baltimore is predicted not to contend.
