RG*: You're old school. You don't even have a cellphone, right?

PB*: Well, I've got one, but people don't have the number.

Semi-related: I watched Trouble With the Curve last night. It was not enjoyable.

Made the same mistake. One of the worst baseball related movies ever.

I expected it to be bad, but it was borderline unwatchable.

Terrible casting except for Eastwood. Justin Timberlake should never get a movie part again.

He wasn't terrible in "In Time", bad but not terrible

Definitely some interesting stuff in there, especially regarding blackouts with games and Chapman and Tanaka (sounds like we definitely had interest in him, since they mentioned him specifically with regards to having an impact on sales).

I was surprised how much I liked that movie. Good point.

I liked that movie, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

I liked the concept and the side characters but timberlake is not a good leading man. The cops were essentially useless in that film. So much social overtones. Amanda seyfield was woefully underused

That movie could have been 90 minutes of Amanda Seyfried brushing her teeth and she would have been woefully underused.

She is a sultry looking beauty

Is trouble with the curve that movie with Eastwood constantly bashing the front office people who actually know how to operate a computer? I remember that was the only thing I took away from the entire trailer

Loved Hech but didn't pay up for Chapman... wow..

To be fair they got what they paid for in Hech a damn good defensive shortstop.

Defensive metrics disagree with elite defense but he certainly looks that way.

FWIW Chapman signed for 6yrs $30.25M, Hechavarria for 4yrs $10.5M.

When you consider the talent and risk associated with both players at the time of the signings Chapman was the far better get then and now.

No f***ing doubt but pussies don't f*** they get f***ed

So Chapman wasn't about money. I have learned to live with that. This is just depressing now.

Paul Beeston has really f***ed his legacy since coming back. Just like Cito. Everyone now knows the the best president and manager in our history are complete and utter s***.

You mean you're going to get him, too? This guy might steal 50 bases for us.'

We've got Bonifacio and Rajai Davis on the same team? We've got jackrabbits everywhere.'

This is a seriously bad person. A dysfunctional f***er. He obviously thinks that having Bonifacio and Rajai Davis is way better then say... Daniel Nava and Stephen Drew.

I mean we heard these same quotes a while back. He's obsessed with this track team idea. You get some speedsters, you get an RBI guy like Joe Carter... then you show Gillick... you show Cito was right about all those arguments back in the 90s. You show them all. f*** Moneyball. f*** Logic. f*** thinking.

f*** Humanity. I am the Beast and the world is not what it is, it is what I say it is. And I say track team!

Who the f*** makes a major personnel decision based on one bullpen session? The guy throws harder than pretty much anyone in the history of baseball, any kinks you'd think could have been ironed out by competent player development.

As if we needed more proof for how badly this FO needs to be cleaned out.

You guys think Chapman can cut it as a top starter if they move him to the rotation?? Edited by G-Snarls

He lost me after this ******** "You can only measure wins and losses. We're in it to win. We're not in it to just measure ourselves in pure economics."

And that was the second, third and fourth line out of his mouth.

Then... Later on

"We're in this thing as a business. We don't apologize for it. We run this as a business. We're not in the business to lose money. But we're not in the business to make money either."

Oh my ever loving f***....

"When we need to go in the inetrnational market to sign a player. They signed off on (Aroldis) Chapman, OK. It was us that made the decision not to get Chapman. We didn't see him well in a workout, but they signed off on Chapman."

Fired.

Chapman? Definitely has the stuff. Not sure how deep in to games he can go at this point though.

Honestly I am not sure on that, you are talking $30 mil for an unproven RP. Sure its turned out ok but if you think the guy is a RP he really isn't worth the risk.

Jays would have developed him as a starter though, not a RP from the get-go.

Thanks for this, you single handedly dissuaded me from reading the article and apparently wasting my time.

Is the term "talking out of both sides of your ass" a thing already? It seems appropriate.
