Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 ChrisCotillo 29s #BlueJays claimed Brent Morel off waivers from the #WhiteSox, according to @DanHayesCSN. That's seven.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 There's GOLD in that thar waiver wire. GOLD I tell ya!!
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 Watch out Lawrie, Morel is here
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Watch out Lawrie, Morel is here ... to be called up from Buffalo every time you get hurt
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 again, I like that we have more depth in the minors available to fill in when people get hurt. However, starting roster really hasn't improved 1iota since the end of the season. We need more.
Lawrie22 Verified Member Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I think morel has a chance to challenge Sierra for that right handed bat coming off the bench role. He can play 1st or DH against lefties

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I wonder how it feels for the player knowing you are trying so desperately hard to make it to the bigs, but you have a stud player blocking you at the MLB level. And even if you do hit well, people write you off as a fluke or AAAA player.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) There's GOLD in that thar waiver wire. GOLD I tell ya!! The one bonus is it'll prevent people from whining about depth ....unless its one of those posters that thinks we should have MLB regulars down in Buffalo Edited December 23, 2013 by GeorgiaPeach
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 His bat is like 30% below league average. 2012 .194 wOBA, 11 wRC+
admin Site Manager Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 The playoffs will be easy to make.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Morel is one of those players that just look like they're using a fungo bat in the big leagues. Not happening.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 The playoffs will be easy to make. ... for the Buffalo Bisons
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Simple depth move, nothing more, nothing less.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Simple depth move, nothing more, nothing less. AA will probably send him through waivers right away anyways since this, once again puts the Jays at a full 40 man roster.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 If Alex doesn't improve the bench Sierra is definitely in the conversation as he's out of options, has taken reps at first and center in the DWL. Don't be surprised. I shutter at the thought of him defensively. Lol, if I recall correctly, didn't Gibbons say he had a hard time seeing Sierra getting playing time at first?

Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 At some point AA will have to move a few pieces to clear the logjam of players without options. That type of roster inflexibility needs to be addressed.

But in all seriousness, if he could flip a few for some prospects that would be fine. Knowing AA, he will just flip Sierra for a reliever. If he controls all the reliever he then controls the market. Sneaky Greek f***er.

Maybe he'll just go with 2 or 3 starters and a crapload of relievers each going 2 innings.
