If I'm AA the last moves I make to finish the offseason are: Trade Navarro + Goins to the Athletics for Clippard + Sogard - there were rumors the A's were open to flipping Clippard. I'm not sure about Voght behind the plate. I like him more at 1B and I think a Navarro/Phegly pairing could be effective. Clippard could very well become jays closer. A's have zobrist at 2B, semien at SS and Brett at 3B, putting Sogard to a bench role. I think Sogard is a better starting option for the jays than goins, likewise I think goins could be well used on the A's bench. Jays upgrade both pen and 2B in this deal. Sign Matt Lindstrom - 2 years 7 mil. - Soriano and K-rod are boras clients. Don't see either coming to toronto. Same goes for joba. Next best arm available is lindstrom.

Pastroniky DFA. Could def see a reunion. Could be a decent option to battle for 2B

My guess is that the winning bid is from either the Blue Jays or Padres. The team of those 2 that fail to sing Kang will sign Toritani. At least this what I am hoping for… I think both are upgrades over our internal options. My personal preferance would be Kang, so I am actually really hoping the winning bid is from us. I have a lot of doubt… but enough hope to be intrigued

I really could see this happening. A Moreland/Navarro swap makes sense for both teams I think. After you have Moreland at DH you need a RHB on the bench other than pillar to platoon at DH. An interesting free agent IMO is corey hart. I think he would be cheap as a bounce back canadate and a good platoon with Moreland. After those 2 moves the blue jays need a LW and bullpen help. I really hope they go to free agency to fill both holes instead of trading any more prospects. LW can be filled by one of Markakis/Cabrera/Aoki. Those are my preferances in order. I also see the jays signing 2 pen arms. One of which will Jason Grilli I think (past interest from club and Martin connection). I would like the jays to sign a second arm and would love it if they could like Romo who could come at a decent deal if we promise him the chance to close. Value isn't bad but I would rather keep Dickey and resign melky or aoki/Saunders

What are people's thoughts on Nick Swisher?? Had a horrible season last year causing the indians to be shopping him and they are rumored to be willing to take on another bad contract in order to dump swisher. Swisher has always played well at RC and he is another all out gamer on the field like Russel Martin that AA is said to be looking for. I think he could be a bounce back canadate splitting time between 1B and DH with EE. I say we dump Romero + Navarro + prospect on the indians for swisher. Than trade Happ and something minor to Seattle for Saunders. I wouldn't really consider it taking on Navarro. I'm not sure how much melancon makes but whatever the difference is between him and Navarro I'm sure is worth it for the bucs to get a slightly above average catcher. He is for sure better than their in house options right now.
