TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Olney thinks the Jays should give the O's Stroman for Duquette. Stupid f***ing ****.
baubau Verified Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Olney thinks the Jays should give the O's Stroman for Duquette. Stupid f***ing ****. My biggest fear is that it happens. Fear someone high in Rogers really wants DD bad enough, not realizing the actual pieces we have, gives up Stroman. I truthfully don't trust Rogers in this situation at all. Hell I don't think I trust Rogers at all.

flafson Verified Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Lol thats probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You think that's funny? He actually suggests we should give them 2 players out of Stroman, Sanchez and Norris.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Do these idiots not realize that we don't really need Duquette? Like there are many other options. If it come down to something like Norris for Duquette, we'll just f***ing hire someone else.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 (edited) He's a f***ing troll at this point, someone at ESPN should relieve him of his duties Edited December 20, 2014 by Atothe

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I wouldn't give up Ryan Goins for Duquette.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 all that effort and not bomb the stadium?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 all that effort and not bomb the stadium? It wouldn't take much to renew the Rogers Centre.... grass field and all Problem is the province is in massive debt and a new crib is not going to add many more bums in the seats... maybe for a bit for the novelty factor
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 all that effort and not bomb the stadium? Well, you're now on a CSIS watch list. Next time you fly into Canada, be prepared for a thorough cavity search...
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Well, you're now on a CSIS watch list. Next time you fly into Canada, be prepared for a thorough cavity search... cool.... I could use a visit to the dentist. lol oh wait... you probably mean the other meaning for cavity.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 He's probably not that stupid, he's probably just being used as an Angelos mouthpiece like the Leafs do with Dreger.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 The Philadelphia Phillies have been unsuccessful at finding anyone to take Ryan Howard off their hands, but general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. doesn't sound like he's going to keep the 35-year-old first baseman around much longer. Speaking on 97.5 The Fanatic on Friday, via Dan Toman of TheScore.com, Amaro was very frank about where Howard stands with the Phillies: "We've talked to Ryan," Amaro said. "And I told him that in our situation it would probably bode better for the organization not with him but without him. With that said if he's with us, then we'll work around him." While that seems to put a permanent strain on this marriage, Amaro also said the Phillies have no plans to eat Howard's contract just to get rid of him: "No one's going to release Ryan Howard," Amaro said. "That's not going to happen. Ryan Howard is too productive and too important a player to just release. You just don't do that with a player like that. But, we don't have any designs on doing that." Howard is guaranteed $50 million for the next two years with a $10 million buyout after 2016, so the Phillies would have to eat all of that if they were to release him. The 2006 National League MVP led the league with 190 strikeouts last year while hitting .223/.310/.380 in 153 games.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Moving him to an AL team (dh) while eating more then half the contract will do wonders for a trade market
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Who would even want Howard at league minimum at this point?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Moving him to an AL team (dh) while eating more then half the contract will do wonders for a trade market He's like a much worse version of Adam Lind. You'd have to eat a lot more than half.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Moving him to an AL team (dh) while eating more then half the contract will do wonders for a trade market He'd be a replacement-level DH.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 He'd be a replacement-level DH. And you act like there aren't replacement-level GM, GMDM
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 The minute Howard signed that contract it was seen as one of the worst contracts even given in sports history. How Amaro didn't lose his job over it, I'll never know. Makes me wonder how some of these guys gets jobs as GM's...
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 The amount of money they'd have to eat isn't worth it. They're better off just sucking it up and hoping he has some kind of break-out recovery.
