KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Tampa 3rd last in attendance so far, ahead of Cleveland (wow their numbers are horrific) and White Sox. I never like to underestimate the Rays but I think they might be be done with this run. Hard to imagine that they make the playoffs this year and they may not be able to even maintain the payroll they have. Especially if attendance drops in the second half. If anyone would have met the kind of price that Shields and Dickey fetched last year, there's no way they would have even attempted this run with Price. As it is, they will probably still get about as good a return as they would have in the off-season if and when they move him at the deadline. He'll still be Q.O. eligible so he won't lose much value at all.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Cleveland 13,548 per game Holy crap! I will say i think Clevelands attendance is more to the fact that they have had absolute s*** weather.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Cleveland and Chicago are real question marks.. some of the factors may include: -Economic factors (especially in Cleveland) -Fan apathy (no ALDS/ALCS for Cleveland since 2007), and Chicago (no playoffs since the 2008 season). -Crappy stadium (Chicago White Sox) -Fans preferring to see the Cubs or Reds. -Bad weather this spring -Rebuilding in Chicago

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 WTF? Fans at the Tampa Chamber of Commerce seem to know nothing about baseball.. I expect Cleveland to laugh at that lineup when they clobber the Rays.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Miggy can pretty much hit a dinger no matter where the ball is placed. http://i.imgur.com/hpra8zz.gif
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Cleveland 13,548 per game Holy crap! That's such a nice stadium too. I like it. That's one I'm trying to go to BJ series every year.. As there's some other stuff like Cedar Point nearby to make it a mini vaca. Front row visitors side last time set me back like $85 ticket I think...and very spacious leg room... And field very nice. Ballpark isn't in best part of town though. Not wise to walk around after night games don't think
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 JP Arencibia is currently catching a no hitter! He's doing a great job.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 11Ks through 8 innings. 0 hits, 1 reaching on error and 1 walk from Darvish thus far
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 3 outs to go to a Yu Darvish no-no.. and it'd be even bigger doing it vs. the Red Sox.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 3 outs to go to a Yu Darvish no-no.. and it'd be even bigger doing it vs. the Red Sox. This would be one of the most tainted no hitters ever. Clearly the score keeper purposefully gave them an error instead of a hit on the ortiz popup. No one touched the ball from what I saw. That is by definition a hit. Period. This is not a no hitter.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I don't want JP to get the joy from being involved in a no-hitter.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 justice is served....no no-no How can Rios get the error when he didnt even try to catch the ball the 2B did
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Yu Darvish just can't seem to get his no-hitter..
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 John Axford (who is related to someone I know) blew up vs. the Rays. Cody Allen is in to try to clean up the mess.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Rays lose again (sigh...) 15-21 now. At least Allen bailed out Axford.. but why is Axford so awful? (and BTW, we will be seeing him next week). How much longer is Rays ownership going to tolerate this futility? Yankees win, Rangers win, O's win, and we drop to 2 back (and 1 back of a wild card tie with TEX/SEA). let's do better tomorrow. And this is #1,000 for me..
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Astro's and Brewers take early leads over Baltimore and New York.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Sabathia's pitches have been really hittable so far. Brewers already have 3 HRs off of him.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Don't forget the Texas and Seattle games later. We're chasing them as well.
