Navarro is clutch

Career wRC+ w/ based empty: 90

Career wRC+ w/ RISP: 80

However...

Last 3 seasons:

wRC+ w/ bases empty: 58, 140, 89, respectively

wRC+ w/ RISP: 113, 163, 143, respectively

So you could infact put sarcasm aside and make a statement that Navarro has been clutch lately.

He has been clutch lately. But that does not mean he will continue to be.

There are two people in this world: 1) Those who believe in clutch abilities 2) And those who have big salivating pussies like Mike Wilner.

There are two kinds of people in this world: 1.) Those who believe in clutch skill 2.) Those who don't 3.) Those who are bad at math

I don't know who is a worse GM. GMDM, Amaro, Stewart, or JackZ.

Looking like Stewart at this point. JackZ can at least fake it.

JackZ at least has a plan. The Mariners are the 2nd best team in baseball for 2015 by Fangraphs. Same with GMDM to some extent -- however inefficient, he consciously works to improve the Royals.

Dave Stewart is just leaking organizational value everywhere without improving the team for 2015 or beyond.

On a reasonable payroll, too.

Stewart is just going to end up acquiring a bunch of s***** white guys under 6'0" to play with Tomas and they're gonna be cellar dwellers.

The Robinson Cano contract made sense because they didn't have any commitments at the time other than Hernandez. They could go beyond the usual $/WAR calculus to get Cano. Cano makes them a much better team and they can easily afford him.

It's hilarious how similar Stewart is to his predecessor, Kevin Towers. Diamondbacks fans who derided Towers for the past couple years should turn their attention to Ken Kendrick and the ownership group. They clearly don't understand how the new climate of the game works.

Seager contract is good too. Pineda deal made sense at the time, just chose the wrong position prospect. Should've pushed harder to deal him for Lawrie like the rumor was at the time.

I cannot imagine the DBacks being good within the next 10+ years.

Which are worse: MLBTR comments, Fangraphs comments or Tweets?

Fangraphs > MLBTR > Twitter

Sometimes Fangraphs comments actually lead to good discussion.

Yeah, they're not always god awful. Well-Beered Englishman is hilarious.

Yankees are dangerous. Their line-up is OK, but their rotation only needs one piece and a few more depth pieces to be able to survive the season. But their bullpen man.

They don't need their starters going long with a bullpen like that.

We've seen in 2013, your pen can carry you only so much before it breaks down. If they are overloaded cause their starters aren't pitching deep, it's only a matter of time before they melt down.

I can kinda see it, but it's no thanks to Dave Stewart.

They have three good, advanced pitching prospects who could all hit in Bradley, Blair, Shipley. I expect one of Delgado and Webster to turn into something good. Then Tomas could be a 4 win guy, Owings could be an average regular, one of Lamb or Drury could hit, and they could overpay for a decent catcher or second baseman who ends up being an average regular. That team could be good in 2016/17 with a bit of luck.

Yeah with Fangraphs and MLBTR you get fans who both follow the game very close and are really stupid. And they'll gang up on you if you get in there and argue with them. Twitter is a little less nauseating because most bad tweets are merely garden-variety internet annoyances.

I remember when JFaS got torn apart by those assclowns for daring to disagree with their hero Dave Cameron.

I really don't understand this deal for the Astros. The prospects aren't elite but there is upside.

The two pitchers with the absolute slowest fastballs in the majors last year (Buehrle and Dickey) provided their team a total of 5.6 wins (6.3 if you use RA9 for Dickey).

To answer the question you asked before you edited your post, from the PITCH F/X era:

Yeah I edited out the quesiton because I assumed Buehrle/Dickey themselves would show up on the list a whole bunch of times. Forgot about how terrible Zito was.

Looks like my hunch was accurate though, doesn't seem like anyone topped Buehrle/Dickey's 2014 performance, at least in the pitch f/x era. Wakefield/Moyer probably just as valuable in 05, but nobody considerably better.

For anyone confused, my original question was whether or not the pitchers with the two slowest fastballs in the majors had ever been as valuable as Dickey/Buehrle were last year.
