Key point though, AA has to find him and be willing to pay more than league minimum.

It still blows my mind not a single team put in a waiver claim for him.

At that point it can't be related to his game

Omg... The Red Sox are brutal... Just brutal. Nava just let a pop fly drop in front of him with the bases loaded and none out. Got the runner at second... But holy crap that was awful.

And if that's not bad enough, it's now 6-3 Angels after all that. This Red Sox team is awful.. it's going to take a lot more than Cespedes to fix this team.

Depends on what's actually wrong with the patella. I had a displaced patella when I was 19 and it was no joke. Took 2-3 months of physical therapy before I could even walk without pain. Not enough detail on what kind of patella injury he has though.

Basically, he'll be ready for Spring Training in an optimistic scenario. We'll have to wait for the MRI..

First word on Richards, left knee patella injury. Severity still not known

Quick see if we can send Buehrle and Reyes to the Angels for Aybar (if they all get through waivers) or s*** just send them both for anything you can get.

V-Mart just hit a grand slam off Kirby Yates of the Rays. Looks like the Tigers will lead the 2nd wild card at the end of the night, but still await results in the KC/COL game to see if they pick up ground in the Central.

Heck no. The Angels can't afford to trade anybody right now.

There lots of young talent there though and with the payroll room in the upcoming offseason, they could retool in a hurry.

Esmil Rogers comes into the game with a 2-1 Yankees lead and now its 4-2 Astros.

Make that 5-2. I'm very happy right now.

IF free agents even want to come to Boston. Jon Lester is already leaning towards the Yankees or Cubs:

Not to mention that the ownership is refusing to give 6-7 year contracts, which is what Shields, Scherzer and Lester are expected to get.

Why would free agents not want to come to Boston? the team a year removed from winning the World Series. You're better than this raysjays.

And BTW, regarding the young talent in Boston.. Jackie Bradley still isn't hitting in AAA (0-5 with 3 Ks tonight), and has been outplayed (small sample size) by Mookie Betts.. despite the great defense, if he hits at least capably like Juan Lagares of the Mets, he'd be playing everyday and not being stuck in AAA.

Because ownership refuses to give deals longer than 3 years after the Crawford/A-Gone mess which nearly crippled the franchise. And last season's championship was more due to career years by their free agent signings, Pedroia, Ellsbury and Nava and a healthy Victorino. Many of those same players, minus Ellsbury, Salty and Drew, have regressed.

Free agency isn't impressive this winter for position players. And Boston's not paying a boatload of money for Hanley Ramirez, who is basically headed for 3B soon..

There's no prohibition on deals longer than 3 years, nor 5 years. Pedroia, who they just signed to an 8 year deal, did not have a career year (neither did Ellsbury). What they have said is that they are hesitant to go beyond 5 years for older pitchers, but that it will be handled on a case by case basis. Each time there's a report about Lester, it switches - he's likely to sign, he's unlikely to sign, they already have an arrangement, he definitely won't sign. It's all just noise. And if they do have trouble finding free agents this offseason, they have plenty of internal assets to make a deal to bring in who they want.

Will they retool properly for 2015? No clue. But they have all the opportunity in the world to do so. And as much as some players outperformed expectations last year, they underperformed this year.

It would be downright silly to write them off for 2015 at this point.

Watching the current performance of the Red Sox makes me question that. They need a lot of things. What also is forgotten is that David Ortiz is nearing 40 and has seen declines in his average and OPS. Without him, this team basically collapses, as they lack a true power threat on the team that is consistent and not oft-injured(looking at Middlebrooks) or needing more seasoning in AAA (Bogaerts, Bradley).

ESPN/TSN has the Dodgers/Padres game. Rick Sutcliffe is one of the commentators. Holy f***, I'm losing brain cells by the syllable.

Boston has a pretty sick offense as of now, and I fully expect them to sign 2 starters in the offseason. Boston will be tough again next year.

Question, both Batz and EE hit more Hr's against right handed pitching.

Is there or who be polar opposite home run hitters against left handed pitching?

Any in the top 25 in hrs?

Thanks

On top of that, it would be real nice if we had a website with customizable stats based on what I wanted. You'd think someone would have come up with a site like this.

i.e.

Filters

-left handed hitter

-select select homers

-select off left handed pitchers

-select for 2014

BAM you have your stats right there
