jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Rays take lead! They needed to win it last inning.. Jose Ramirez may have a great arm, but he needs more development in the minors. His peripherals weren't impressive in the minors, but the Yanks don't have many good options.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Nuno, Phelps and Whitley are destroying the yankee,s bullpen. Not sure they can wait till CC is back. They may be the first club to do a deal to get a pitcher
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Out of division, but El Oso Blanco, aka Evan Gattis, is out, possibly for the rest of the season: Mark BowmanVerified account @mlbbowman Gattis is going on the DL with a bulging thoracic disc. He's likely facing surgery which would end his season. Good thing the Braves have Christian Bethancourt. Yikes, and he was having a fantastic season. This is disappointing.
HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Run diff: Jays 30 O's 4 Yanks -32 Sox -33 Rays -37 Os and Yanks really f***in lucky. Not really. The O's are close to their win expectancy. To lump them in the same amount of "f***in" lucky as the Yanks is wrong.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Not really. The O's are close to their win expectancy. To lump them in the same amount of "f***in" lucky as the Yanks is wrong. Yankees are able to outperform their run differential because of how good their back end of the bullpen is. When you can have Betances and Robertson in the 8th and 9th you are going to win a lot of close games.
admin Site Manager Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Note, I have never been to a strip club, so I may be missing out. But honestly, what's the point of going to them? You get a case of massive blue balls cause you can't touch or do anything. And you pay $$$ just to watch girls. You're better off watching porn, hiring a hooker or buying a fleshlight from amazon. To me, strip clubs are as irrelevant nowadays compared to Hustler or Playboy magazines. This was long time ago. IT was more so somewhere to go after the bars closed, I think it stayed open another hour. But most strippers are s*****, some are smoking hot though. But yeah, I've only gone to one probably 3-4 times in my life, it's not that great. Some people love it though.
Convo Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Yet they can't beat the Tigers still, as evidenced by Rajai Davis' walkoff grand slam. Davis' always had a flare for the theatrics http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_06_30_oakmlb_detmlb_1&mode=video&content_id=34184387&tcid=vpp_copy_34184387

I have one about 5 mins away from my house. It has no cover fee, but you have to buy at least 1 drink for around 10$. Sometimes its nice to just go in there for an hour with some friends and have a beer. 10$ for beer and titties, whats not to like?

When you can have Betances and Robertson in the 8th and 9th you are going to win a lot of close games. A good bullpen helps but its not going to translate into a dramatically good close game record. The odds of a team bucking the Pythagorean by that much, even with a great bullpen is very unusual.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Mariners are still playing well! Good chance of going 46-38 tonight
HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Mariners are still playing well! Good chance of going 46-38 tonight Yeah, it's looking more and more like to reach the post season in AL East, a division title in necessary.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 With walker back Felix, Iwak, Young, Walker, Elias, is pretty good/young
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Mariners are still playing well! Good chance of going 46-38 tonight Would be incredible if both wild card teams came from the AL West. No one would have predicted that.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Replace Young with Erasmo and looks a lot better. Replace Erasmo with Paxton and looks a lot better.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Joe Saunders got punished for not beating the O's with a DFA, as I expected. After giving up so many HRs last night, I'm not surprised.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Hard to believe the Giants used a 10-16 month to lose their division lead as of July 1. They even started the month 6-1, too. Ouch. At least the Jays dont have a Dodgers-calibre team to contend with.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Hard to believe the Giants used a 10-16 month to lose their division lead as of July 1. They even started the month 6-1, too. Ouch. At least the Jays dont have a Dodgers-calibre team to contend with. Well, the AL East is the worst division in baseball, with a 40-42 average (courtesy of Baseball Reference). There's no Detroit, or three powerhouses of Oakland, LA and Seattle to contend with in the AL East. Baltimore is basically our only threat, and only because of Nelson Cruz. What happens if he regresses and/or Baltimore starts facing elite competition?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 While checking Baseball Reference, I noticed that Boston's offense is DEAD LAST in the AL. Worse than Houston, at 3.75 runs/game, 14th in batting average, 13th in Ks, 15th in SLG. I knew losing Ellsbury would hurt, but how did Boston turn into a clone of the current Chicago Cubs, with decent pitching and zero offense, even with the DH? Last year, Boston was tops in many categories. How much longer can this go on in the Red Sox organization before some coaches get canned? Even THE Mookie Betts isn't helping so far.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 The Red Sox have been such a strange team since about 2011.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Everyone knows this already, but Mike Trout is simply not human.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 There's a team that's only 3 games out that's a definite threat, especially if Kuroda steps it up and CC can pitch decently. Oh, and the O's? Much of their team is underperforming. What if some of them pick it up? If that's the case, the O's may not have a threat in the AL East. And if the BoSox offense finds a spark, they're easily back in it. NOT with the Angels and Mariners leading the wild card. And the Red Sox offense still is nonexistent. Outside of Sunday's game, they've really struggled to score recently. As for the O's.. they are actually overperforming. Their pitching isn't actually that good, and any regression by Nelson Cruz could be trouble.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I believe in the Angels, but are the M's really for real, or are they just on a hot streak? Conversation about the Royals in the media seems to have died down too.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 the cheapest homerun I have ever seen, embarrassing
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 another homer for O's, Cruz Rangers pitching is terrible.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Rangers pitching is terrible. Nick Martinez went to 3-2 with all the hitters but the first. Bad
