eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Man some of those guys have like 150K posts on that board. f*** I thought 50K was a lot.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Boston had all the money available to bring Drew, Salty and Ellsbury back.. but Sox ownership is frigging cheap and bothered by the Adrian Gonzalez trade, considering the Dodgers won't bail them out again if they repeat the same mistakes of the 2011-2012 teams. The main problem Boston is failing is due to the fact many of their players had career years last year at the same time, and several pitchers, such as Peavy, Buchholz and Doubront have seriously regressed. Playing multiple rookies in the lineup (Bradley Jr., Bogaerts, and Middlebrooks) has hurt, as Bradley looks awful at the plate, and Bogaerts has had defensive issues at SS. Failing to find a decent leadoff man has hurt as well, as their offense has dropped.

Can't really blame him, i don't know about you guys but i PVR and watch all of our games, if we were on the same run i wouldn't want to leave the house and stayed in my underwear for a week.

It's not that they are too cheap..... it's that the first year they ever take a stand on the big contract.... they win a WS.... That's enough to embolden anybody.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I know a team can't trade draft picks..... but.... can they essentially do so by trading a PTBNL.... who is the draft pick? For example. Could the Jays say to the cubs..... you tell us who to draft at 9 and 11 and a week later, we will do a trade for Shark for 2 PTBNL's?

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 The problem is that the draftees can't move teams for one year. Yep. And the Cubs wouldn't want the Jays handling there prized top picks for an entire year. It's going to take a package of prospects that also include close to mlb ready talent (ie. Stroman, Sanchez, ect) to get Shark anyways,
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Jumping on there fans right now, is dumn. Yeah, they've had a good decade recently. We have not.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Jumping on there fans right now, is dumn. On Red Sox fans? They've consistently been the whiniest, most entitled fans in teh league for a long time. This looks good on them.

Just sayin'

Just sayin' It would be different. Handling a guy (who the Cubs would pick) who you know 100% is going to be traded after a year as the PTBNL. Why would you even work on the kids swing or mechanics when you know he's being shipped off as soon as the rules allow.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 On Red Sox fans? They've consistently been the whiniest, most entitled fans in teh league for a long time. This looks good on them. As of last year, the Os fans have been gunning for this title...
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Boston is, and always has been, very cognizant of the luxury tax threshold. I believe they've gone over it once, but they always try to stay under. They have the 4th highest payroll in the majors. Last year, they started with the 4th highest payroll and ended with the 3rd highest payroll. Suggesting they're "cheap" is obscenely dumb. Ok, maybe they're not cheap.. but they haven't managed their resources well. That Peavy deal from last season is starting to hurt, as he struggles badly. Mujica was an awful deal, and they have yet to negotiate an extension for Lester, raising the risk a team like the Yankees will poach him in the offseason, just like Ellsbury. Likely Boston will have to make some trades at the deadline to get help..

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Beckett throws a no hitter in a 6-0 shutout Nice
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I came to the main board looking for a "Can Happ Stick" thread He's sticking whether we want him to or not. Therefore I'm thrilled that he pitched that well.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Is this Beckett's first no hitter or second?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Boston's bullpen is melting down again.. Breslow gave up a 3-run shot to Sean Rodriguez, and the Rays now lead 6-3. Could it be a 10-game losing streak for Boston?
JaysFanToTheEnd Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Anyone watching the Boston game? Bunch of babies and the announcers acting like complete b--tches......loving it!

JaysFanToTheEnd Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 What did he do? He stole a base
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 He challenged the entire Red Sox bench to a fight and than when Gomez came at him he ran away like a little bitch. This tool doesn't belong in the game. Doesn't play hard, s***** attitude. I was so happy when he dumped his ass. True piece of s***. I don't care what value he provides. I wouldn't want a guy like that on my team. Really? Wow he really is a clown.
