havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Totally! Let's concentrate on making the playoffs for the first time in 20 years before making comments like these. Seem to have not learned anything from last year. Let's break down Silvergun's sentence shall we? First part: "I just can't bring myself to hate the Rays" = From this part of the sentence, we can gather that Silvergun may find the Rays to be a likeable organization/team. As much as he wants to try and root against them, he simply can't because there really isn't anything to dislike about that franchise from his view point. Second part: "The rest of the AL East is so easy" = From the latter half of the sentence, Silvergun makes it apparent that the rest of the AL East is easy to hate in his mind. It is rather simple to come to this conclusion if you bridge the first half of the sentence with the latter half of the sentence.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Baseballs unwritten rules are hilarious. Yep You think Dustin Pedroia wouldn't have nabbed that bag if the situation was reversed??? He most defnitely would have. STFU and play better, Red Sox.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 So Dallas Keuchel just threw another dominant complete game.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 So Dallas Keuchel just threw another dominant complete game. Lots of groundballs, limiting walks, and nice K totals. f*** this guy looks good.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Josh Beckett with an xFIP of 4+ today. Not impressed. Someone at the press conference tell him that he was mediocre out there. I nominate JFas. Surprised you know how to access Fangraphs.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Lots of groundballs, limiting walks, and nice K totals. f*** this guy looks good. If Trout hadn't beat out an infield single with 2 out in the 9th last game he would have 3 consecutive complete games with only one run given up in 27 innings.
berenjenareturns Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 easy to hate... not easy to beat Ah, got it!
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 BTS totally owns a Rays shirsey. I do too. Matt Moore offered to sign it but I told him to save his arm. Guess I didn't help enough. Sox are looking to rally around something, can anyone blame them.

STFU and play better, Red Sox. That's the thing with the red sox. They have their heads so far up their asses they fail to see it was only the 7th. 5 runs is nothing in a lead to a world series champion. Whatever was said to Escobar really pissed him off and obviously Escobar over reacted but he's playing his game. What started it was those whiny little red sox bitches yapping from the bench. Shut your mouths and just play ball, it's not like it was a 8+ run lead where the 'unwritten' rule goes in play. I just lost a lot of respect for that team.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 This is one of those things that, while hilarious, should not be allowed to be posted by a Jays fan. The Gose to Rasmus's head take-out warm-up throw precludes it. Eh, the result is worse for Gose, but this was probably funnier.

vdartanian Verified Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 They're an effing horrible organization. They suck the collective teet of all other successful MLB organizations in order to put forth the paltry payroll that they do manage to muster. And then they cry about how it's not their fault that they suck as an organization. It's the stadium. It's the city. It's the politicians. It's the fanbase. We're going to take our ball and move somewhere else! Wah! Wah! Wah! Shut the f*** up and do your friggin job. As much as I hate to admit it I gotta side with Motherf***er Moggy on this one.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 lol We'e gained 9 GAMES on the Red Sox over the last 10ish days.

Actually, Rasmus talked about it recently (i think it was recent) and he said it happened cause he didn't see the ball in the sun, not because Gose did something wrong.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 "I saw average stuff," McClendon said of Keuchel. "We didn't swing the bats very good. At some point you've got to stop giving credit to average pitchers. That becomes a broken record. At some point we've got to start swinging the bats." Keuchel is a pitcher for the Astros, who has better than average #'s. Interesting to hear those comments from a scrub manager.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Re last night's brawl "After the game, Rays manager Joe Maddon correctly pointed out five-run leads aren’t exactly safe, even in the seventh inning, and his side did not object in last year’s ALDS when Jacoby Ellsbury stole second base with the Sox leading the Rays by the score of 8-2 in the eighth inning. “Our goal is to not permit them to score runs,” said the Rays’ skipper, who had his 700th Rays victory overshadowed. “Their goal is to score runs – the whole game. That’s always been the goal within the game of baseball. Apparently some of the guys on their bench did not like that.”"
flafson Verified Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Even some of the Red Sox players said that, it was more about their losing streak than Escobar doing something wrong. 5 runs in the 7th is nothing. Any chance some of the Rays players not playing today against us because of it?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Sox play early today too. 1:10 PM ET game vs Atlanta Buchholtz vs Ervin Santana Hate to cheer for Santana, but... Go Braves!

Both Escobar and Rodriguez were ejected, though I'm pretty sure if they get suspended Maddon will request both of them to appeal since this is an important series for them.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 If we can take care of our own business (which the way our offence is going we should slaughter Bedard). The rest of the AL East is in for tough series.
