Jays Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Looks like we're not getting Price
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Goodbye Lind... Maybe the Pirates can get you to work out for more than 15 min

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 Why are we dealing Rasmus for Butler? That would be brutal Don't blame me, blame your stupid GM.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 At least EE isn't going to the rays
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 3 years, 21 mil for Loney. This one is a bit of a head scratcher for Friedman IMO.
flafson Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 They probably compare him to Lind, seems very similar to the Lind money.
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Who? I would guess that he's talking about Loney??
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 This day in age, 7 AAV is f*** all. Its ALOT for the rays though
Sorrow Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 With the Royals signing Infante does that make Colon expendable? I'd be interested in Rasmus for Butler and Colon if we were able to get a decent prospect from the Pirates for Lind.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Does this make the first rays move (Apart from delmon) that BTS doesn't like?
Sorrow Verified Member Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Colon, he's a Met? Or am I missing something? Woops, meant Christian Colon their MIF prospect.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 ? filler What is the meaning "cap filler"?
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 when u use caps, the board moves it to lower case buddy cap filler CAPS You don't need to actually write "cap filler" noob.
bzapple Verified Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 This is a bit un-Rays-like.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 This is a bit un-Rays-like. I agree. First Rays move in a long time that makes no sense to me. Really don't like it. Feels like a reactionary move to missing out on guys like Edwin.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I know how you did that, lol. Tell ju1ced to turn on html code and we can have some real fun
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 This deal would be getting crushed if any other team but the Rays extended it. It doesn't make much sense. Loney doesn't walk, has no power and his defense is good but overrated. And there's no upside other than the always-present possibility of a fluky BABIP.

Don't see anyone in this thread liking the deal, but I don't think people are going to crush Friedman for one single questionable deal in a career filled with brilliance. The Rays rarely come out badly from any deals they make, so it's hard not to give them the benefit of the doubt. This and the act of acquiring Delmon were just kinda weird.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 They can afford it, Montreal will give them the money.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 They can afford it, Montreal will give them the money. Imagine how many Jays fans we would lose if Tampa moved to Montreal? lol
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 This was a terrible move plain and simple.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 This was a terrible move plain and simple. I agree. Just watch though, somehow he'll put up .900 OPS and get traded for a haul, then regress back to normal.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) 3 years, 21 mil for Loney. This one is a bit of a head scratcher for Friedman IMO. There was really just no one else for them to get Not every TB move can be golden This was done out of necessity. Bet they didn't want more than a 1 year deal either Edited December 14, 2013 by G-Snarls
